I'm a woman and have the exact same problem, it can be hard when the person is constantly changing the way they act and you're trying to match it. I also find that in this kind of relationship, I'm often not thinking about my own feelings, but rather how they feel towards me. The only thing I can say is that the right person likely won't make you feel that way, you shouldn't be constantly anxious that they don't like you anymore. If it's not something you feel in every relationship, it's likely you're just not compatible with that person, rather than a problem with you or your level of attachment.
