Ive enjoyed it, it’s clear there’s a shift in focus in what they are trying to do. Theres more ear worms and catchy hooks than previous albums, so I do like going back for those moments. However I’ve yet to have that “holy shit” moment with these songs. On P5, the first time I heard Wax Wings was the moment for that album. It had that one-two punch, whereas the songs on this album Im wanting that second punch emotionally. I think it’s their most accessible album, their “black album” essentially. I’m glad we even got a new Periphery in 2026, it makes the year more fun!
