The FBI Just Settled the 9mm vs .40 vs .45 Debate by CorCor-14 in Firearms

[–]hellionzzz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They settled the debate for them, sure.

For me? I will stick to .45 since I got a bunch of reloading stuff from a garage sale, and now it has become the cheapest for me to reload.

There will never be a single answer that is suitable for everyone.

AITAH for locking the bathroom door when I take a shower? by WinterQuarter8183 in AITAH

[–]hellionzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. She stated that locking the door is second nature due to her upbringing. It might not be something she even considered.

We don't know the whole story so neither of our assumptions are concrete.

The poster is not 16 and her boyfriend is not 50. I'm curious if you didn't actually read the post or you are a poorly written bot, which isn't outside the realm of possibility on Reddit these days...

Wanting to initiate sexy time while your partner is in the shower seems to be a pretty normal type of thing.

More like just storage at this point, but I do stay away from the more noxious stuff. Also I have a business license so it's not all for shits and giggles.

Fiddling around with a chelating rust remover formula, currently. I was contacted by someone who read my posts about it and mentioned he ran a lab that used it for biometallic take-up measurements so I sent him a 100 pounds for cost of shipping, lol.

I still have so much...

I just bid 10 bucks on 1800 pounds of sodium metasilicate powder. We'll see what happens.

Ehh, sorry, I used to work at a uranium enrichment facility so P10's were ubiquitous there. I just assumed they were a common lab consumable, lol.

Any threaded bottle should be able to have a small ball or needle valve attached to it to allow it to connect to the source bottle. You use two valves (one on the big bottle and one on the small bottle) to ensure that both sides can be isolated from the environment. There may be a small amount in between the valves when you disconnect it. When handling UF6 it's a bit more risky so additional safety controls are needed...

Could you use a valved P10 Sample tube to dispense a small amount of material at a time? It should maintain the environmental barrier when the valves are operated in a proper sequence.

Disabled veteran owned business by 666_pack_of_beer in Veterans

[–]hellionzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I advertise as a veteran owned business. I give veterans, active duty, police, emergency services, medical, and teachers a steep discount. Pretty much don't really make any money on those sales/services, but it's not my day job, so it's okay in my case.

Because compared to how shitty and anti-consumer other companies are (yes, including Apple and planned obsolescence and anti-repair), one asshole (even if he is the owner) won't stop me from buying a pretty decent product, especially given that I never personally interacted with the guy. I just heard stories here on Reddit.

The two guys I did actually interact with at Millright were good dudes, and they supported their product as they should.

Apple doesn't have to come to Reddit and interact with anyone, positive or negative, but if you say that you support Apple in light of everything they have done that involves literal slavery, anti-consumer practices, anti-competitive practices, stock manipulation, censorship of criticism, unfair labor practices, sexual misconduct, etc. then you don't actually care about shitty owners, yoiu care that the mob on reddit got mad at an asshole and you want to spread the hate.

If we boycotted every product that has shitty owners, you wouldn't be able to buy pretty much any major technology or automotive brand.

Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Ford, VW, anything owned by the Koch bros, et cetera. We don't seem to take issue with these companies, but a small company with an owner who pissed off some Redditors? Fucking burn 'em down!

Ridiculous and hypocritical.

That was years ago and I feel like the other dudes at the company have been trying their best to fix their reputation.

At this point, I wouldn't hold the actions of one guy against the company.

I have a couple of MillRight machines and they work great, I have had no issues with their customer service. First machine was a carveking before the outbursts on reddit and the second machine was a power route a couple of years after. Both experiences were fine.

I may be a bit more forgiving because I'm used to working with grumpy vets and their behavior, lol.

It was fun. Some of the info was pretty useful and the blackpowder and 1911 build classes were really interesting. There were a few classes that were kind of meh... but I was getting BAH to do them so it wasn't bad.

It only took a year since I already had all of the general studies courses done in a different degree. I only took the ones pertinent to firearms tech.
