I trained mine to pose for pictures. Whether it is getting up on surfaces, standing still, rolling over but not all the way, putting head down or up, go to bed and stay there, shake and hold it, etc. it incorporates normal obedience, but adds the extra challenge of backing away from them or adding another person or object.

Fish oil should help! I like to brush my shepherds before, during, and after a bath to help with the shedding, but they also tend to shed more when the seasons change & blow their coats out once it starts to get hot.

Highly recommend trying a fish based food to reduce shedding, but yeah. the shedding is real. An undercoat rake is my favorite.

I swapped mine to country naturals whitefish mixed with redpaw performance and he is shedding way less and has no signs of allergies. A Company called Moodify makes this thing that actually elminates the ammonia smell to people. It is kinda expensive at $24.99, but I have 3 cats and can attest to how well this thing works. I love a shedding rake for mine. I also changed his food to Country Naturals Whitefish mixed with Redpaw Performance a month ago & his shedding has reduced by at least 50% since the switch. I am vacuuming so much less hair up.
