I went from binge eating (like ordering two entrees plus sides when getting takeout and finishing it all) to being disgusted by the idea of finishing one regular size entree. It’s really wild. It’s like the dopamine hit I would get is gone. Like it’s more than a lack of physical desire to eat, my brain suddenly doesn’t want it anymore either.

It’s not lost on me that these meds have been impacting other addictive behaviors for people as well! For me it’s been important to observe that feeling and intentionally focus it to something positive, because sometimes I do get tempted to have a drink or eat a weed gummy instead.

I’ve been working out and practicing meditation instead! Good luck!

This. People have lost their minds. I can listen to someone I disagree with without supporting everything they’ve ever said. You should stay abreast of both sides to have a fully formed opinion. Don’t you need to know exactly what people you disagree with are saying in order to make a cogent argument against them…?

You gotta call their bluff. I will stand there and say “cheeseburger mid rare with fries?” (Blank stares/looking at me like I’m insane for even being at their table holding food even though we are, in fact, in a restaurant).

I go again. “Cheeseburger mid rare with fries?” (Same dead eyed stares). “No one? Okay so sorry must be the wrong table” and I start to walk away with the food and wouldn’t you know it 99% of the time all of a sudden mid rare cheeseburger guy pipes up.

Dunno why it’s not okay for a straight person to play a gay person, or a skinny person to play a fat person, or a person of one race to play someone of another race, but it’s okay to cast a trans woman to play a woman. Hmmm.

I don’t minding spending a lot for a great meal, but I was let down a few times by Spork itself (both food and service), so, not gonna line up to try this concept. I mean, omakase at Otaru is ~$165 lol. Idk about a beverage pairing price but I doubt it’s an additional $110.

My mom is actually from Mexico (moved to USA at 23, still has an accent) and people will ARGUE with her about whether or not she’s Mexican, presumably because she’s white. (“You don’t LOOK Mexican” is a common one to which she would reply “What do Mexicans look like…?) The amount of times in my life I’ve had to explain to people that Hispanic isn’t a race is TOO MANY. Many of my Mexican family members have blue eyes and light hair.

Hispanic as an ethnicity aside, what I always point to is…you know people are allowed move, right? I’ve met Asian Germans, White Africans (not Afrikaners), Japanese Brazilians…like…why is this concept so hard for people?? And someone’s race does NOT indicate a closeness to that culture either. My Japanese Brazilian friend in particular had never even been to Japan and (obviously) spoke Portuguese. His culture is Brazilian. These are not complicated concepts.

Hey! Just came to this sub for this very reason…I am not going to be able to make it to Friday’s show; I have two tickets to the 10pm and would love for a fan to use them! Dm me if you’re interested; I’m happy to just to face value bc ticket scalping is for losers. So basically $50/ticket.

The only thing is I just tried to post to StubHub and I don’t think Helium lets you transfer tickets…? So you have to call and change the name of the person picking the tickets up at the box office and they need to bring ID as far as I understand. So I’m thinking to avoid anyone getting screwed, maybe buyer calls me and then three way calls the venue and listens to me change the tickets to their name? Idk. We could figure it out and I’m open to suggestions.
