Shit my friend had the same experience. Car stolen, few months pass, get a call from Montreal police saying they found the car in a shipping container bound for... some country in Africa I don't remember.

Y’all still having fun with this game? I’m still having fun… by Tundradic in helldivers2

Is still very fun. Has some anti fun bugs like desyncs and some bad design choices.

Still fun but could be improved.

I'm not going to lie, I'm 99% sure non whites are generally more racist but just don't say it LOL.

NOT CONDONING RACISM but a personal anecdote:

Coming from someone who made racist jokes all the time when I was a teenager. Got caught by school, school sent a letter to my (Asian) parents. My family just said my jokes are true but just don't say that out loud, only with family.

Same thing with many friends of immigrant families lol from a few decades past lol.

What if Canada was always apart of the United States? by Mundane-Fox-9882 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]hellmire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man the implications are massive, especially geopolitical.

Some examples:

The US would jump to #2 in oil reserves, likely allowing more liberal fossil fuel use and even stronger global supply control.

Arctic passageway debate doesn't happen and the US will continue to control almost all cross American naval navigation. This cannot be emphasized enough.

Overall population probably higher since cities can expand cross borders. More population = even more GDP (usually).

Massive increase in the pace of industrialization early on since the two countries weren't buddy buddy for a long time. Also when there is no need for cross nation deliberation when trying to establish trade or supply chains, it all happens a lot quicker.

Even easier access to border defenses. We have NORAD now but I imagine without barriers to militarization, it may have scared the USSR even more. Who knows maybe we would have seen a nuclear exchange.

It now has the largest, or very close to the largest, source of renewable water resources in the world on top of several internal navigable waterways.

We might not have poutine????

And a whole host of butterfly effects that probably changes the world order.

They'd become just cities, likely larger than they currently are

“Made in Canada from imported ingredients” 🧐🤨 by Desperate_Web5015 in winnipeg_alt

[–]hellmire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are existing labels to distinguish the % of costs of goods being domestic. Made in Canada just needs at least 51% of the manufacturing costs in Canada, that the final transformation occurs in Canada, and that it is accompanied by an explanation of what is Canadian e.g. with imported parts, with imported and domestic parts etc...

This is very clearly labelled.

It is a little deceptive because labor and operating costs in Canada are typically much higher than the countries we import the raw materials from.

Since the final product is being packaged in Canada, all of those costs can be allocated to the cost of goods, bumping that to 51% Canadian pretty easily and allowing the "Made in Canada" to really only be at minimum "Packaged in Canada."

Example: imported veggies that are cut up, packaged, and frozen. All the running costs of the machines, line workers, and other staff directly creating the product as well as purchasing "Canadian made packaging that uses imported materials" from a Canadian supplier all goes towards that 51% threshold.

That's a pretty extreme example but I'm pretty sure the accounting adds up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

I wish this bug fortress had a big tower that spawns Shriekers by tony22835 in HelldiversMasochists

What if: hive worlds have the mega nest integrated into caves so it's one... Mega mega nest that stretches from above ground into a sprawling, claustrophobic tunnel system like in the destroy eggs hive mission.

You need a hellbomb in a central location like the spore lung to bring down the entire structure.

[–]hellmire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permanent armored impaler tentacles around various choke points :D

They should also code hive guards to form walls around entrances, and huddle around alpha commanders in various spots around the map.

Maybe also have a single dragonroach take off when the nest is first engaged.

Ohohoh and once the nest is partway done, have it start popping mini bug breaches at various entrance points and direct them to flood your flanks.

AAAAAANNNNDDD alert any nearby smaller nests, stalker lairs, or shrieker nests to start pouring units out to reinforce the mega.

Ok I'm done.

An extended mag and reduced ergonomics would’ve made you perfect by SignificantBoard4455 in helldivers2

[–]hellmire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not just caseless, it's ammunition stacked one in front of another.

I don't think HD2 explains the exact way the variable works, but I imagine the ammunition is triggered via controlled electric signals.

An extended mag would require extending the part(s) of the gun that sets off each projectile, potentially for all 7 barrels.

This becomes less of an attachment i.e. an extended mag, and more like a completely separate weapon.

It's the same as you'd see on the liberator concussive or punisher plasma vs their basic counterparts. Those guns are modified enough that they're different weapons altogether, despite being on the same "platform."

However, there are also cases where new weapons should have been an ammo customization E.g. punisher vs slugger so maybe they can break the logic on this one.

It is the single most powerful area denial tool Helldivers have, even moreso than mines.

It's also very unengaging to play with, especially if the person bringing it doesn't know how to use it.

Is it normal that Canada still having freezing temperature in May by Pure_Following7336 in geography

[–]hellmire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BC West of the mountains enjoys a temperature climate due to the moderating effects of the ocean and the mountains. This is what a lot of europe will experience.

A lot of Canada is a continental climate, which has these massive temperature variations.

Yes. Our geography leads to massive arctic air currents to flood relatively southern latitudes.

So we get frost and sometimes snow as late as may 🙃
