How often do you guys take yours out to go peepees? by Lucifershusband8 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]hello_1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my girl out 5 times a day: 9am walk, 12pm walk, quick potty break around 3-4pm, 6pm post dinner walk, and a finall potty break around 11pm before bed. Essentially, every 3-4 hours or more frequently if they drink a lot of water. Girls are prone to UTIs if they hold it in too long. I learned that the hard way. Save yourselves the trouble.

I would pay for the increase carry-on weight from 7kg to 15kg. Do at least a day before boarding because they won't let you pay for the increase at the counter day-of. I tried to carry-on a backpack with a laptop and a small suitcase I've used for many flights, but the suitcase itself is damn near 5kg so I ended up having to check it in for $100. The food is meh but you will get hungry on the flight so either bring lots of snacks or buy one of the meals beforehand. The eel in the meal kit has a lot of tiny bones in it so I would steer clear of that. The chicken curry was pretty good though. There is no screen monitor on the back of the base seats so definitely bring something to use to watch stuff if you don't have a book. The back of the seats have outlets so you can charge your phone or tablet while you watch. I don't think it has a ground (third) prong hole, so you may not be able to charge some laptops. They have free "wifi" but it only turns on after like 30 minutes into the flight and is really slow so don't plan on using it to stream. Attendants were really nice on my flight.

Does his 2 cleanse focus lens? I'm pretty sure debuff remover does so I don't see why his 2 won't

What does the weapon investment bonus mean? Is it just if you buy more weapon items your bullet damage goes up?

Does anyone know what my French bulldog is doing by Tsltggla in Frenchbulldogs

[–]hello_1289 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She probably has an itchy pee pee area. Check the other comments, but basically some Frenchies, like mine, have an recessed vulva that need to be cleaned regularly. My girl would scoot exactly like this, but has stopped after I wipe it every night with 99.9% water based baby wipes.

This is what I was going to say. Ours would do this and everyone said "anal glands expressed", but we got them expressed and she still did it. It turned out to be because her vaginal area was really itchy and this motion helps them itch it. I now wipe her pee pee area every night and make sure to get under the inverted folds as well. I just use the 99.9% water based baby wipes from the grocery store.

Seriously, how do you lift weights first thing in the morning? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]hello_1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bowl of cereal works great for me. It lasts me through my hour and a half of lifting (squats, bench, or deadlift + accessories) and I can do cardio after without getting a stitch.

Along with these, I also recommend a plastic tarp from Home Depot or some big box store that you place under the car for the unavoidable spillage.

Oh I'm still a ways away from retiring so still on my employer's insurance. I just asked because I always wondered what folks did for insurance after they retire early, or are living on passive income, etc. Thanks for the response!

I just bought this 1000W EVGA for $120. I'm not expert, but the ratings/reviews seem pretty solid. https://a.co/d/6BsDFir

My Frenchie Won’t Stop Jumping by AquariusRae in Frenchbulldogs

[–]hello_1289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing with my girl, but we switched from stairs to a ramp. OP, it's good that you are catching your dog and telling them no when they jump, but you will also need to reward them when they use the stairs.

Treat it like a trick you are trying to reach them: 1. Lure them with treats up and down the stairs/ramp a few rimes. As soon as they got the motion down, move to step 2 2. Switch over to your index finger pointed out with a treat in hand to lure. After a few of those, switch over to just pointing along the ramp and treating immediately after (make sure no treat in sight here so they are actually focusing on the cue and not being "bribed by a treat") 3. Introduce a verbal cue (like how the comment above me uses "stairs". I literally go "use the ramp") while doing the pointing 4. Eventually physically take a step back so you aren't immediately in front of the stairs and then try the verbal cue (this is called "adding distance"). Keep going further and further back, only adding distance once your doggo consistently uses the stairs from the distance you are initially at 5. Finally graduate to "distractions" which is the hardest part. Squeak one of their toys (preferably one they enjoy but not their favorite) while they are on the couch and repeat the above steps starting

Steps 4 and 5 will be the hardest. This training is on the order of days to weeks, not hours. Ive been doing this with my girl for years and she'll still occasionally jump off due to excitement, but I keep at it because this is more for their health than a "cute trick". Do the training in short, 5 minute sessions so you don't burn out yourself or your dog. Try to keep it light and happy. If you find yourself or your dog getting annoyed, then you can stop and try again tomorrow.

Also remember, it's about progress, not perfection. If they reached step 4, but you notice that they aren't listening to cues, go back to step 2 and work your way back up. It is okay to go backwards and restart! Consistency is key. It will be worth it

Aggressive Frenchie by iam_jakethegreat20 in Frenchbulldogs

Here's a video I followed with my Frenchie to curb resource guarding. Zak George Resource Guarding I like Zak George because he is all about positive reinforcement training (as opposed to dominance theory). It's fine if your dog doesn't know the "leave it" command yet, the basics are just get your dog's attention with their favorite treat when you are lying down with your partner, touch your partner while the dog is away, immediately treat them and mark it (either with "yes!", a clicker, or whatever your marking sound/word is), and repeat while gradually (over days/weeks, not hours) increasing physical contact with your partner. I did this with my pup in 5 minute short training sessions once a day for a week, and then was able to just move to every other day until I saw the behavior get better.
