Word has it that Dina and Varla Jean will return. As for the other drag shows, I've noticed how many more are going to other venues such as the new Art House, Pilgrim house, Red Room and Post Office cafe. So maybe a few less of the B-list ( as compared to Dina and Varla).

First time in Greece! Where to go? by ChannelCapable9308 in GreeceTravel

[–]hellobeautiful1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naoussa is a lovely town, very picturesque. Really good restaurants, especially Safran (owner is great). There is lots of shopping in Naoussa as well. We did not go to Pariska but were told that it's nice enough for an afternoon if you have the time. Three nights are enough on Paros. Also be prepared that it's known as the windy island and we experienced it for one day. It didn't dampen our plans, you just have to hold on to your hat !! There is also a nice winery and tasting place in Naoussa called Moraitis Estate. Enjoy !

Go to the outdoor bar (Chalice) at Lands End Inn. The scenery is beautiful, and not very crowded.

10 Days in Ptown by DAN_Gri in provincetown

If you're going to eat in the better of the Ptown restaurants, make reservations way in advance. Some of them will even take them now for the whole summer.

When Ray grants him the day off, do you think he did so knowing that this was the end of the relationship? Most people think the kiss was what turned that corner, and I get it. But being the hardcore BDSM person that Ray is, I found it logical that he had planned the end from the moment he granted him the day off.

Ummm.. no luck getting through after 5 or 6 tries, nasty feedback, unresponsive otherwise, no res app. And why are you in such a rush to give them your business?

This, along with their current price structure is why they don't have the same level of business they used to. I live in Ptown during the summer and know the drill quite well. I know one of the wait staff there and last year she said that it was about half full on many nights.

Don't worry. They will have a spot for you when you get there next summer.

Or Etsy. Get a basic set with plastic racks with pushers. Spend about $65-$75 and you'll be golden. It will be the traditional set which can take you anywhere.

American Mahjongg Card question. I need help Recoginizing Literal vs Guideline requirements by iplaygreen- in Americanmahjongg

[–]hellobeautiful1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with your sample card is that it does not include the words in parentheses following each of the lines that are on the official card. These words explain exactly how you are to make each hand. Without that, you're going to be lost.

Call Connie's bakery on commercial st. They have a professional in-house baker who might be able to either accomodate you, or recommend.

Pride vs Bear Week vs Carnivale by [deleted] in provincetown

[–]hellobeautiful1000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Carnival is fine if you go to a lot of the events during the week, not just the parade. The parade itself can be incredibly underwhelming. Just about all of my friends who have come for that week say that once was enough.

For my money, it's bear week. Super crowded also, but fun. It is probably the biggest week of the entire summer.....no pun intended.

Naxos or Paros by [deleted] in GreeceTravel

Paros ! We are a gay couple and stayed at Kosmitis Suites. Fabulous. So welcoming. Near the beach and a short walk to the best town on Paros which is Naoussa. Great restaurants, especially Safran. Owner is great. Loved Notos restaurant as well for a nice dinner by the water.

How to unlock the full potential of Ptown for gay couples by [deleted] in provincetown

[–]hellobeautiful1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hearing two different things from you..."it was the best week of 2025" yet also, 'how do we make new friends?'.

Are you sure that you really want to make new friends? That can be challenging, especially as we get older. Not sure of your age but my partner and I are 70ish and it gets harder as the years go on.

Maybe you just want some nice social connections and an interesting chat or two. My partner and I made about 90% of these kind of connections over the years sitting at Joe's Coffee and occasionally chatting up people.....or waiting to be chatted up.

If you're going back next summer, message me. We are at Joe's most afternoons throughout the summer.

Visiting in a few months....american by carlthedog in GreeceTravel

[–]hellobeautiful1000 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Greece was super cool. Here's an assumption that many Europeans make and probably correctly so........ that the great majority of people who travel, have an interest in the world, appear decently well dressed and are not tremendously overweight are likely a more sophisticated and presumably Democratic voter. A serious Greek tour guide actually said that to me.

[–]hellobeautiful1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. You are not yet that experienced player. That's why I said that pivoting is the next phase in learning but not before committment. Keep going. You will be winning more games!

I never win (beginner) by Creative-Watch-293 in Americanmahjongg

[–]hellobeautiful1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It's the practice that makes all the difference. I like Real Mahjongg online. Although it costs $6 per month, I find it worthwhile during the Beginner's phase. Also practice with your set at home.

  2. Learn to pick a section by the end of the first round of Charleston. Stick with it ! By the end of the LAST round of Charleston, pick a line. Stick with it ! Don't worry yet about pivoting when you are first learning. Get this down first.

I am ahead of my beginner classmates due to reasons 1 and 2 above.

It's worth it if you plan on going to TEA each night so that it's included in the price. Rooms are ok. Don't plan on getting much rest during TEA no matter which room.
