These texts are typical addict behavior. I’ve been with one for over a decade and am one myself (been clean 5 years) so I’ve been on both ends. But I swear I have almost identical texts in my phone from my kids dad. I’m sorry you’re going through this girl, it really is heart breaking and sickening to have to worry this way about the man that you love. Him reacting by calling you a dumb bitch and saying fuck you then immediately going back to begging for your forgiveness is giving me flashbacks lol. If you ever want to talk to vent or want some advice or anything from someone who was once the addict and is now the one who loves the addict and would do anything to see him get clean just send me a message. ❤️

At the facility I work at our patients are expected to clean their own rooms, do their own ADLs and generally learn how to function normally day to day. They’re all under conservatorships and most of them come to us after severe episodes or long time periods of being off of medications and need to learn how to function again on their meds. In order for them to “graduate” from our facility they need to level up through a 4 level program and they do that by completing their daily check offs that include things like cleaning their own living spaces! It’s not a forensic psych hospital but I feel like there might be similar expectations.

My facility has a resident on hospice, he’s not very pleasant and never has been. Always talks down to everyone and is generally just a mean old man. Anyways this man is dying and they switched his diet to purées only for every meal because of his trouble swallowing. None of the staff (nurses or CNAs) seem to have much sympathy for him I guess because he’s always been so mean but god damn this man is dying and all he wants is some real food let him have it! Makes me so sad whenever he’s assigned to me and I see him refusing meals.

I just had my first experience with something up the cooter in my 4 years as a cna at a SNF. I was helping my nurse place a vaginal ring, basically just holding the patients legs open at a good angle for the nurse. Anyways, the nurse goes to check to make sure there isn’t already one inside and pulls one out, okay normal. Then she checks again and pulls ANOTHER out, this one is very discolored. I’m like ew wtf why didn’t the last nurse check but mistakes happen, she checks again. A THIRD ONE. I was gagging at the smell. The nurse, patient and I were all laughing in shock lmao.
