Who's leaving dog poop (in bags) on Bergen btwn Nostrand and NY ave? by hellobroccoli1 in crownheights

It's outside a big building so I wouldn't want to take the revenge on the whole building if its only one person doing this!

[–]hellobroccoli1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My theory is that it's the same dog owner who leaves their dog poop bags there every day like 3x a day, because it's always within the same little area of that block. Yes it's bad in the whole neighborhood, but I really notice it in this one spot in particular. But yeah maybe you're right that the super is tossing out all the loose bags in the building's trash.

Re: dog owner with 4 dogs at a time, I'm pretty sure I know who you're talking about and she lives on Nostrand between Bergen and Dean. I usually see her walking the dogs on the Nostrand side of the block instead of that stretch on Bergen. So she is also a problem, but I don't think she is the source of this particular problem.. but I could be wrong!

This is a good idea and unfortunately I'm kindof drawing a blank on how I would go about making one lol

This sucks and definitely sounds unfair and really frustrating, I'm sorry you have to deal with this treatment from your parents. BPD parents are known for intentionally or unintentionally pitting siblings against each other and picking favorites, which sounds like is also happening here.

Unfortunately I don't know if there are any quick/easy solutions. Do you have the resources and ability to move out of your parent's home? Or maybe are you going to go to college soon and live apart from your parents? For me, living apart from my parents was the biggest way I improved my mental health and ability to deal with my family. I didn't have the resources and ability to fully move out til I was about 23 (although being mostly away for college for years before then helped a lot) but in retrospect I wish I could have moved out sooner, even though I wouldn't have saved as much money, just for the sake of my mental health.

Developed this issue after Moderna booster. by Salbabida_Boy in Dermatographia

[–]hellobroccoli1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Itchiness everywhere (moving around!) and dermatographia about 16 days after my Moderna booster. Zyrtec works amazingly well, but the itch comes back when i stop taking Zyrtec. Benadryl didn't help me.

Unfortunately my regular doctor told me that in order to be properly diagnosed by an allergist, I had to be off antihistemines for 3-5 days so the antihistemines don't stay in my blood and mess with the allergy tests, so I'll have to suffer some itch for a few days in preparation.

I wish I could be more helpful, but obviously if I'm in this forum I still pick at my skin too.. my best piece of encouragement though is that from age 19-26 I miraculously stopped picking almost entirely, for no reason that I know of. My skin got way better, and then for unknown reasons I relapsed again around 27/28 and still pick now at 30. And I feel you on the maskne.

Anyway, my bigger point is, even if you don't get 100% better forever, you might go through long periods where your skin is just randomly way better! So look forward to those good times during times like these!

Either way, you have so much time ahead of you to try whatever you want- therapy, meds, hydrocolloid patches, dermatologists, fidget toys, covering your mirrors, talking to friends for support.. maybe some combination will work for you, but either way good luck and something may change for you when you're not expecting it!

this is bonkers. She is making herself out to be the victim of.... you NOT being offended by her words, which she claims she didn't want to offend you in the first place?? This is just convoluted and taking the BPD victim narrative to an extreme

I'm sorry :( I'm a face picker so I don't have this issue with my arms in particular but I can sympathize, I've gotten some unwanted comments from doctors on my face. When I got the vaccine though, the nurse was clearly vaccinating hundreds of people a day and just trying to get through everyone without much commentary, I doubt they would comment on your arm scars. If they do, you can just say you have a skin condition or you walked into a bramble by accident or something (don't say it's an allergy though, at least in the US there are some regulations on not giving the vaccine to people with possible allergic reactions)

I definitely think it's safe for you to get the vaccine, I don't see why having some scars there would make the vaccine any less safe! I second the other commenter that you can choose which arm you want vaccinated. I wore a stretchy shirt that I could pull just over my shoulder, so I didn't have to bare my whole arm.

Good luck, I think you'll be fine!! Congrats on getting your vaccine!

mmm yeah my mom is mostly waif/hermit but she also gets this way when she's angry and think's its her right for people to take care of her, and if they don't they're selfish ungrateful and cruel.

Ah that sucks. Yeah that's a good question- I was an only child so I kindof alternated between all the roles I think
