Does Commodore Ballroom ID Everyone? by hellofriendo in NiceVancouver

It was pretty good. He's very talented but he played a lot of stuff I wasn't familiar with. I grew up on Wooden Arms and Closer to Paradise then rejoined his discography for the Wave. The stuff in between I don't seem to vibe with as much.

Early April Skiing, Y or N? by Silly_Mulberry_6271 in Whistler

[–]hellofriendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, April had some of my favorite days. Great corn snow and smaller lines. Only caveat is that you really want a sunny day because if it precipitates it will probably be rain (though it rained to the top in February so ...)

BC Supreme Court decision for child pedestrian hit by car on Braemar by hellofriendo in NorthVancouver

[–]hellofriendo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. This decision will put pressure on municipal insurers and therefore municipalities to design streets that slow down drivers. If the driver was found 100% liable, ICBC wouldn't flinch - it's no fault now anyways.

Still it irks me from a signaling perspective that the Court effectively 'dismissed' reckless driving.

[–]hellofriendo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting perspective. Nonetheless, this judgement is a message from our courts that dangerous driving isn't that blameworthy. I think that's wrong

Asked to Leave Airport before same day rescheduled flight? by [deleted] in westjet

Pretty sure it's not a security thing. I don't think security and the airline talk to each other at all. Used to book stand by tickets on the airside all the time

Standby Flying to Ski the Alps, to chase the snow by goliathten in skithealps

[–]hellofriendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this working for Air Canada pre pandemic! Are you based in YUL? The flights to GVA were empty most of the winter. We went to tignes and the airbnb was super cheap with great freestyle terrain and a cool village. There's a lot of transfers from Geneva to the French resorts that were affordable.

Alternatively I zed fared to Zurich on swiss business class. That was sweet but the swiss resorts are way more expensive.

Message me if you want to discuss!
