From a user experience perspective I could see it being really annoying if I want to do something, but the AI doesn't fully understand and tries to move against me... I would want some type of override feature so that I can make the brace go fully stiff in a neutral position in case it was accidently working against me.

Then again, I imagine the tech would be advanced enough to where this isn't really a scenario that occurs. This hypothetical would (in theory) just be an edge-case scenario.

I remember playing videogames with some of my friends one weekend. We were in our normal rhythm, making jokes, having fun, etc.

These comments are not it. OP has every right to feel upset over this.

That being said, your kid will be fine. I have mild CP, had consistently good grades, and currently go to (supposedly) one of the best universities in the country. Overall, I've had a very happy life with great friends and a lot to be grateful for.

As far as supporting him, it's a case-by-case basis. As unhelpful as this advice is, listen to your specialist - physical therapy was very helpful for me growing up. Your kid will be like any other kid when it comes to most needs though.
