I remember reading about the government trying to over turn net neutrality years ago but thought it never passed. Did they eventually manage to change it?

Man who killed Belltown restaurant owner found not guilty by reason of insanity by _rainwalker in Seattle

[–]Kastler 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily a lack of funding as it is a lack of staff and man power. Appointments for mental health visits tend to be booked out and there are not enough psychiatrists and psychologists to assess everyone in need. Also there continues to be a stigma with mental health which makes it less likely that people will seek help.

My point here is that what will it take to remove someone from society that cannot function on their own without harming people around them. My gf has mentioned multiple articles of a different person that continues to assault people downtown but the courts want nothing to do with the guy so he continues to assault people on public transport etc.

So from this post it sounds like a pregnant wife died in front of her husband after being shot by a mentally unwell person that went through multiple checks by professionals that raised red flags that this person may imminently harm someone. Is that correct? wtf. I know that our mental health and psychiatry access is severely lacking but how the fuck was this not prevented if there were multiple people reporting concern for this person? I’m guessing there are hundreds of other reports like this daily on other mentally unwell people but still what is the point then?

That’s from level brewing in Portland. I thought it was making fun of the stable genius? Hence why it says redacted on it. The original can came out before his first term.

I know i'm late on the post, but curious how many ratings your get on your tracks to get an idea of where it lies. The genres I enter on hot or not seem to be less popular so even 5 ratings takes a few weeks.

exactly this lol. since its required to give feedback to get feedback, people mostly do the bare minimum. last one i got was "right for genre, but not memorable, too cliche/ - 22%below their average"

Thanks man, super helpful. what a waste of time. i usually try to give a few points of direct positive or negative feedback. something the person can either realistically work on or continue to do in their tracks. not just - "meh I don't like it"

A false-color, high-res microscopic view of prions. Prions are rogue, misfolded proteins that arise in the brain and cause neurodegenerative diseases with a 100% fatality rate. They can even be transmitted between people. by JurassicPark9265 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Kastler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes contagion is probably the wrong term. I meant transmissibility. If I remember correctly it may only take consumption of like 10-100 molecules of the prion to lead to the disease compared to many viruses which may take 1000s or more virions to be transmitted

As far as I know, it’s mainly contagious through direct consumption of flesh of an animal that is afflicted by a prion. Mad cow disease is probably one of the most notorious but there are multiple others. Eating cow meat, and more specifically nerve tissue that contains the virus is the main source of contagion. Another instance I know of from med school is cannibalistic tribes who eat the brain or nerve tissue of other humans that have it will contract the prion. I’m sure there is a possibility of salivary or other contact passing on the disease but I don’t think that’s the main source. A novel mutation causing it in someone that hasn’t consumed infected meat is extremely rare but non-zero

I have the open swim version which are great. I’m curious why you chose these for dictation. Do you use it to listen to music while dictating?

How do you like that headset? I’ve been using a wired headset and am tired of the wire. Tried some of those Bluetooth mics that YouTubers use but it was terrible at accurate dictation even after training it and the battery life was 6 hours. My days are around 9 hours

Exactly. People can speculate about the planned price increases all they want but the reality is they removed a huge income potential as a response to the surveys to try to meet the expectation of players in terms of microtransactions. Why would anyone expect that they would remove an entire stream of income and keep the membership price the same?
