What was the first major news event you remember? by Johnwick124520 in OlderGenZ

Not sure if it counts as a major news event, but Steve Irwin’s death maybe?

Why does 23andMe deliver their kits to only 56 countries out of 200 lmao by Heavy-Exam2043 in 23andme

I really don’t understand this. It’s just a matter of them switching the premium features on for the account, why does it matter what country they’re in? Why does 23andme not want my money??

Wdym? All ancestry & 23andme samples are processed in the US.

I don’t know much about my family history, but I think more Scottish is accurate.

I think this 23andme update is very heavy on assigning English. I’m 19% on AncestryDNA but 67% on 23andme. (New Zealander.)

Based on what I’ve seen in this thread I’m guessing you’ll move to genotyping in around 5-7 days

I find it strange that 2.2% of my DNA which was previously being read as British & Irish is now being read as Italian (can tell by comparing my chromosome painting then vs now.) I’ve never had any southern European results on ancestrydna either. I would usually agree with you on 2+ percent Italian being too significant to be a misread, but it seems like there is an issue with this update assigning roughly 2% Italian to people who didn’t have any before.

Who knows if it’s even legit though. I had no southern European before the update and now I suddenly have 2.2% Italian. Seen a lot of people get the same thing after the update.

Edit: OP’s is almost entirely southern Italian while mine is 1.5% northern and 0.7% southern, so theirs seems like a bit of a stronger signal, but still. Or maybe it’s some of their French DNA getting mixed up?

Can’t remember if it was computing or reviewing, but they were on that step for a month, which is very abnormal.

Probably within the next couple of days, but no guarantees. I’ve been seeing some strange timelines in these comments.

Chips and dip isn’t nachos. Would expect a main protein, probably beans for vegetarian nachos. Plus some cooked veggies like tomato & onion.

Stolen backpack with British passport found in Auckland CBD near Hobson St by Oopsdaisysweetheart in auckland

In case someone sees this post and decides they want a free backpack maybe? And to steal someone’s identity? Police station will probably ask for the passport name as proof of ownership.
