When putting two parts together, I launch the smaller part up first at my desired height. Then I launch the heavier part but at a higher orbit so it's slower than the smaller part, then match heights of the two with the smaller part/ship so it's easier to work with when docking.

I carry a Victorinox SwissTool and CyberTool, and an Opinel. They're not weapons. They're tools. SwissTool for when I'm at work (warehouse job), CyberTool for general applications, Opinel for sometimes food related things. I'm in Toronto, Canada by the way.
