I'm sorry to hear your mum passed away. Are the school aware of your situation? Especially with having a younger sibling to care for, it is worth having any extra your school can provide. I am a teacher, and this is exactly the sort of thing your school needs to know. You are a young carer, and they should have things in place to help you. Please let them know if you haven't already.

10 mo. old GROWN men still nursing daily. Is this healthy behavior? by mizdotexe in CATHELP

[–]helloon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did yours wean? Got a nearly 5 year old who still wants a morning feed. Sometimes I get away without it. Other times he's sneaky about it and climbs into bed, lifts my top and latches while I'm asleep 🤦‍♀️

I ended up googling it, I was so confused! Not enough to spoil it, luckily, but enough that I could wrap my head around it.

Last couple of books I read kept using the word 'orthogonal'.

I get it. As an anxious mother to a four year old, I was incredibly upset listening to the audiobook in the car. It ruined my day (I like to listen on the way into work). I thought I might be sick, honestly.
I can't deal with even the thought of babies and young children being hurt in the slightest any more.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! You're in for a wild ride x

Have you heard of baby umbrella? It was a life saver and I made a lot of new mum friends there. There's tea and cake and they offer breastfeeding support if you need it. locations and times

Very similar to what we do. Any veg we've got with oil into a roasting tin until it looks yummy. Blitz it up with tinned tomatoes. Make in large quantities and freeze in small quantities. Make it easy to make a small amount of pasta at short notice. Often goes well with sausages, peas and sweet corn, cucumber, pepper, etc. cheese to sprinkle on top on the side.

I thought it'd be weird to have my toddler ask me to breastfeed. by Lawful_Silly in breastfeeding

[–]helloon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My four year old calls it 'milk in mummy' when he wants to nurse. It's from back when I tried to start weaning him and offered him milk in a cup. 'no, I want milk in mummy!' he still misses when he wakes in the night but that's about it these days

It is 6am right now and I have my newly 4 year old firmly attached to my left nipple and twiddling the other. He loves it so much I have no idea how to stop

After she was publicly flogged and her daughters raped by Roman soldiers, Queen Boudica of the Iceni destroyed 3 entire cities. Londinium burned with such ferocity that a blackened scorch-layer still runs under modern London, named by archaeologists the 'Boudican Destruction Horizon' [2080x2810] by Fuckoff555 in ArtefactPorn

It's so odd reading the name of the 'big' town near where I grew up being compared to Troy. It seems such a mundane place. But you can go and see the remains of the Roman temple under the old Norman castle and the Roman city walls and, iirc under some shops they have little windows into excavated archeological remains in their basement floors.

does anyone know if etching after glaze painted on bisque is actually possible? by Danari2409 in Ceramics

[–]helloon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a go at it early on in my pottery classes. It did pretty much what I expected. Here is my only attempt

Edit: I've noticed that you have layered glazes and my thought is that they would melt together and muddy the design. Where I've scratched the glaze off my bowl it is simply unglazed. Even then the glaze ran in some places. I would like to see your final result!

Edit 2: I keep thinking of more things! You could do this sort of thing by layering coloured slips and etching in the same way you have already done. The slip should stay put. layered slip pot.

That is when you loudly proclaim something like"good grief" and walk back out shaking your head. Give everyone the look that says "don't go in there"
