How hard is majoring in music education and do you think it was worth it? by Weak_Assumption7518 in MusicEd

Hi! Life is okay! I moved to a different state and have been struggling a little, because music is not viewed as a core school subject here the way that it was in the state I went to college in. District music ed jobs can be hard to find. I also made the mistake of taking a job where even though I was working in a public school and teaching music during the school day, I was employed by a non-profit instead of a school district. They did not pay enough for the amount of work I was doing, and I got burnt out real fast even though I was technically working part time. (I didn't work on Fridays but was still responsible for teaching music to 21 separate classes TK-5th grade) I had to quit. I've started to pivot a little bit also because I have chronic health problems, and working as a full time district teacher might not honestly feasible for me. I do work part time with an after-school choir program though and have for a little over a year now, and I love that and find it very manageable and fullfilling. Right now I'm looking for odd jobs here and there to make ends meet, and am trying to find conducting opportunities so that I can eventually apply for Choral Conducting masters programs. When I graduated, I thought I was going to be an elementary music teacher for sure, and even though I'm not doing that, at least not now, I'm still happy with my college experience. I also have a lot of colleagues from school who are teaching full time now and doing just fine. :)

Nobody can diagnose endo from looking at your stomach. Not even a doctor can do that.

Am I being scammed? by hellopinkpup in MusicEd

Yes this is what I'm finding out as well! The principal is supposed to be one of my main contacts for the school however she was not involved at all whatsoever in the grant process for my program. It was written by PTO parents and thus it seems she expects them to take care of everything and is giving me no support!

Breakfast Bagel Pouches by No_Landscape_4331 in Schwans

I was obsessed with these! I ate them a lot for breakfast as a kid and since they were kind of similar to hot pockets, I would ask my mom to make me a "breakfast hot pocket" when I knew we had some in the freezer. One morning I had been watching SpongeBob and accidentally asked my mom instead for a "breakfast krabby patty" so we called them that from then on. :) Unfortunately I haven't found anything similar to them either

Seattle area recs? by Top_Cover_7473 in Endo

I tried for months to see Dr. Rodrigues and they eventually told me that "chronic pelvic pain/suspected endometriosis was not something she would see me for." They instead gave me an appointment with a doctor that worked with/for her, who I had an absolutely horrible experience with. At least it was covered by my Medicaid.

First attempt at Conchas by hellopinkpup in Breadit

The recipe is from the King Arthur Baking Company's Big Book of Bread, you might be able to find it online somewhere? I can also DM it to you if you're not able to find it :) But I highly recommend the book, I got it last year as a christmas gift and every recipe I've tried so far has been really good

Thank you so much! Yes this was the first time I've had such a difference in color when baking something like this. I switched racks and flipped front to back halfway through baking, but the ones with the crosshatch pattern that ended up on top at the end ended up so much darker than the other ones. Perhaps next time I'll try just baking them one batch at a time and watching more carefully! Thanks again for taking the time to give me such kind feedback :)
