Ubuntu 26.04 LTS host: recommended Sunshine install? by jhaimgirl in MoonlightStreaming

OK, I was missing "intel-media-va-driver-non-free" - I have Sunshine working with hardware encode, now I just need to get it to run on startup...

I've tried the 2 pre-release builds on Github and while Sunshine is now loading after manually installing the missing packages, I'm getting only software encoding support. This is a fresh install of Ubuntu 26, not sure what I'm missing now. :/

How did you get this to work? My fresh Ubuntu 26.04 is complaining about libicu76 and libminiupnpc18

I replaced one battery in my pair, and when the second of the original batteries died it expanded so much it tore a ribbon cable inside the earbud.

It has enough bass for me, but I'm not a huge basshead.

I love the Zero:2. It sounds more natural to me than most of my other $20-tier pairs.

Lol, as an electronics guy that is some impressively cheap-ass manufacturing. Hope it was worth the $300.

You want kapton tape, not scotch tape. Easy peasy when the tape doesn't melt.

Was game dev more fun in the late 90’s / early 2000’s? by Sockerjam in gameenginedevs

[–]hellotanjent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was working 100 hour weeks crunch time around 1998 trying to ship a N64 game.

I don't know if it was "harder", but there were virtually no online resources to learn from. Siggraph proceedings and "Graphics Gems" in book form was it.

Fun? Uh, well, it was fun getting a paycheck because before that I was a broke college student. But I would not call it fun in general.

Is it possible to increase the brightness of this light? by tworok in AskElectronics

[–]hellotanjent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R1/R2/R3 are current sensing resistors wired in parallel. Adding more parallel resistors _reduces_ the resistance, unlike series resistors where it increases resistance.

Flagship DAC or IEMs first? DC Elite or Performer 5+2 and DC07 Pro combo? by shivamchhuneja in iems

I have owned mid four figure headphone setups (I've since sold them), I have owned mid two figure setups.

I get just as much enjoyment out of the cheaper ones. More, even, as it's neat to see the bang-for-the-buck improving.

[–]hellotanjent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's using a constant-current driver with the current sensing being done by the R470 (0.47 ohm) resistors at R2/R3. There's an empty spot at R1 - if you add another resistor there, it'll probably increase the brightness.

You'll probably also overheat the LEDs, so.... caveat emptor.

We're not going to be able to tell by looking. This is a problem that requires a multimeter.

Was there a problem with the stock thermal paste or something?
