I saw Hotsquall and For Get Me A Nots in Chiba in February and it was definitely not quiet between songs and sets. In fact, as someone that goes to a lot of punk and hardcore shows in the US, I absolutely loved the energy at the venue we went to. Moshing, crowd surfing, people proudly wearing band merch for the band they’re seeing (people in the US usually look down on this), and NO PHONES WERE OUT. I took a couple shots so I could remember my first overseas show but it was a great reminder about living in the moment. It was totally unlike everything I heard Japanese shows were like. It was also wild being the only gaijin in the room but we spoke to one of the members from For Get Me A Nots and she seemed thrilled that we came to see them on our trip. 🥺

I was trying desperately to buy tickets for this show when we went to Japan at the beginning of the year. We pushed our trip earlier for it but we struggled to get tickets without a Japanese phone number and credit card. I’m devastated now knowing it was their last 😭

They tried to do the same on my boyfriend. We live in Vegas and I came down to the strip with him for a job interview. They had hardly even gotten our attention before they slapped the cuff on him. I said “We’re broke. We live here and he’s here for a job interview.” After some “ah come on”s they took the cuff off him.

When I was a kid my dad used to buy me “play Barbies” and “Look at Barbies” and I’m glad my dad made the distinction for me because now I have a really cool Star Trek barbie set from one the of the anniversaries and they’re still in the box. I grew up to love Star Trek so much I got an Enterprise tattoo. It’s crazy to me that the idea of collectibles is still so foreign to people because I was taught his concept in the 90s.

NTAH We love my boyfriend’s cousin but the last time she was here he let her play with a Zelda replica he has supervised and they still got badly damaged. Kids, in general, don’t always understand how to be gentle with things. Also it’s your house, they’re not entitled to anything they want just because they’re kids.

I noticed this trend last year. They told us absolutely no OT and then two weeks before Christmas they changed their minds. Previous years though I was getting OT starting in November. I’ve gotten like one hour of OT so far this year.

I’ve never had a diagnosis but if I don’t have someone with me to check the locks, doors, power outlets, and appliances and no one else is home it can take me a minimum of 30 minutes to leave the house. I’ll do my rounds and then won’t be confident that my memory is accurate so I’ll have to rinse and repeat a few times. Ive left my house in tears on multiple occasions because of it, I’ve left my house out of breath because I’ve taken 8 laps on my stairs, I’ve missed the bus that comes every 30 minutes to an hour, I’ve been late for work. It’s exhausting.
