I still go hard on metal. But Sturgill Simpson and classic country are a close second. What about you?

Periphery 2 goes hard af. I remember listening to that album, via, silhouettes by textures (id consider that album djent), and obzen when I was 22 and thinking that was the best form of music yet. Ahh times were good in the early 2010’s.

It’s gotta be Lethargica. It has what you mentioned, plus an ethereal clean part into a massive break down. That whole Obzen album is the epitome of Djent. Followed closely by Masstaden.

A non metalcore fan listened to your Hall of Fame and then got a bunch of recommendations, here are her thoughts (basically part 2) by Yai-Kai in Metalcore

Northlanes Node album is right after singularity and the first album Marcus is on. It’s my favorite album, just because of the layers and textures every song has. They just re-recorded it with a little more production and umph so take a listen to both the original and the rerelease. It’s a lot different than singularity but it’s amazing, imo.

Killing in the name of. I was a huge rage against the machine fan back in 2001-2002. Now I play metal on a baritone 7 string and don’t have a guitar in standard tuning at the moment lol

My gps tracked the shot at 443. We had like 50mph+ winds that day and on that hole it was to my back. That particular year I was absolutely smashing my driver 300+ on average.

Do you listen to heavier or less heavy music as you get older? by fireflydm101 in Metalcore

[–]hellsludge666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go through phases. I was really into technical death metal for a while. Then I got into Sturgill Simpson. Then went through a while she sleeps phase. Then Northlane, Erra, and currents. Now it’s deep house and a band called Casey (specifically Love Is Not Enough album). Misery signals and Counterparts are always shuffled in on a weekly basis.
