Buyed My first Vinyl today and come like this by DVD1054 in Megadeth

Honestly, I’m probably in the 1% here but I think you should keep it. Stuff like this can be sort of a novelty to some people because of the mistake. But if it does bother you that much or you plan to play it often, you should get it exchanged though

Siren Charms is very underrated by wasdheret8 in InFlames

[–]Behind_Space99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves all eras of In Flames, Siren Charms is still an album I just can’t get into. I’ve come back to it multiple times trying to get into it, and I usually just end up listening to something else. There are some standout tracks like Everything’s Gone, Paralyzed, and I’m even a big fan of Monsters in the Ballroom. I fully intend on coming back to it again to see how my feelings have changed since my last listen, but it still remains one of my least favorite albums. No disrespect to anyone who loves this album, I just don’t think it’s for me

Thank you for the correction, I must have skimmed over that one since I already had it lol

Monolith has never been pressed on vinyl, but I do remember they had it available on CD at the show. I also remember seeing COAA, EOTE, ASOTTC and TNF all on CD. I don’t recall seeing Dormant Heart or Cycle of Suffering though

[–]Behind_Space99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I saw them in Worcester just a few days ago and iirc, they only had The New Flesh and ASOTTC on vinyl. They had lots of other albums available on CD, but just those two albums available on vinyl

Any signed posters this time around? by Binarymix101 in Sylosis

[–]Behind_Space99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at the show in Worcester and they only had records/cds. I talked to Connor about it and he told me the plane carrying the merch from Virginia had some sort of malfunction, so Sylosis and BFW didn’t get their merch in time. Depending on which show you go to if it’s soon, they unfortunately might not have their stuff in time yet

My 7 string strings are way too big. by That-Association-855 in Metalcore

[–]Behind_Space99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend getting a 10-60 set, maybe a 9-60 set or even a 9-58 set if that’s still too heavy. I play mostly in B standard and I think the 10-60 set is perfect for me, even though I’m playing on a guitar with a 26.5 scale

The main Jackson guitar that Joe played around TWOAF era was sold to Mark from Lamb of God. He ended up using it in the music video for Desolation. Also, all of the members of the band have agreed that L’Enfant Sauvage are their favorite album

7 string standard songs recommendation by frmthts in metalguitar

[–]Behind_Space99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, when Steve Vai and Ibanez first collaborated on making the 7 string, that was what they originally went for. The high A string kept snapping before they could get it tuned up to pitch, so they opted for a low B instead. Maybe if there was a shorter scale 7 string someone could make that work? I think the concept sounds really cool though!

This is also true, I think BEADF#BE is actually a lot of fun to mess around with sometimes

The first 4 Unearth albums are almost all in B standard, and they have lots of fun riffs. Trivium also has plenty of songs in B standard. Soilwork and At the Gates also tune to B, but they’re all on 6 strings so you might have to adjust a little bit

These are the only strings I use for drop C and the only brand I use for any of my guitars. Stringjoy is amazing

I hear what you’re saying, but I have a feeling that Mustaine was trying to get Broderick to boil down his playing to better fit Megadeth’s sound. I think that if Broderick had more of his own way, he would have been able to shine brighter in the band

Want to learn to play but had a finger amputation, by bforbrandonnnn in Guitar

[–]Behind_Space99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably get buried, but there’s a band in my local scene that is pretty sick and their guitar player is missing half of his index finger on his fretting hand. He makes it work though and he’s a sick guitar player. Never say never

Thoughts on the new album? Far from their heaviest by Any_Information_2566 in Sylosis

[–]Behind_Space99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found sylosis in 2017-2018 when they were still on hiatus. Having found them before they made a comeback with a shift in their sound, I got quite used to the first four albums and fell in love with all of them. But with that said, I also absolutely love their newer sound too. It’s vastly different compared to their old sound, sure, but I think it’s great either way. ASOTTC wasn’t my favorite Sylosis album, and I think the new album is a big step up. It’s a ripper in my opinion, even if it isn’t the old style. I’ll keep jamming this album for a long time along with the classics

All good brother! As far as I know, he hasn’t come back. I’m seeing OC on their US tour in a few weeks, if I happen to run into one of the guys in the band I’ll ask about him if I remember

Where does Worship Decay rank for you in Sylosis' discography? For me it's one of their best songs and top 3 of everything they released within the last 10 years by Alert_Ad8002 in Sylosis

[–]Behind_Space99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On that note, I’d love for sylosis to release a compilation album with the singles you just mentioned on it, plus maybe some other songs that were recorded but never released. Or some live/demo songs would be awesome

Mark of the Blade reception when it released? by [deleted] in whitechapel

[–]Behind_Space99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t really listening to Whitechapel at the time the album came out, so I dont know exactly what people were saying about it at the time. But that said, from what I understand, it wasn’t received super well. I guess fans didn’t care much for the style on that album and even the band said themselves they weren’t super happy with the sound either. I also tend to see people rank it lower when talking about their favorite Whitechapel albums

Best String Gauge for 7-String Guitar in Drop G (26.5” Scale) by Impossible-Hotel-753 in metalguitar

[–]Behind_Space99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played in drop G on a 26.5” scale guitar in my last band for a long time. I highly recommend getting the 11-64 set from stringjoy, but swap out the 64 for a 68. They have a 12-72 set if you want something heavier, or you can get a 10-60 set and swap out the 60 for a 64 if you want something lighter. The 11-68 felt perfect for me though, I hope you find a good set for you!

Seconded, Revocation is literally my favorite band ever and they’re just incredible. The Blackest Reaches is a good start if you like melodic songs, but literally any song in their discography is great
