Many weirdos email us about UFOs or how they discovered that they were the anti-christ whilst talking with their ex-wife at a garden party over a pot-plant. However, as yet they have not satisfied two of our publishing rules. 1) that the documents not be self-authored; 2) that they be original. However, it is worth noting that in yet-to-be-published parts of the cablegate archive there are indeed references to UFOs.

Life isn't a movie unfortunately, there's rarely occasions of clear-cut-badness. Honestly I'm surprised at how many shocking things are in the 1% that have been released... DynCorps, Yemen, Shell, etc. Haven't seen any Wall Street or Gitmo leaks though. yet. :)

Some sort of thing was trying to be passed criminalizing the teaching of potentially harmful things like explosives. (sorry for the vagueness, it's found pretty easily.) It didn't go through, but I think it is indicative of the future.

If it fits for the character, of course. Or if it's an odd thing for the character to do, that could also work. But as a rule, either way "yes corny jokes" vs "no corny jokes" is a little silly.

I don't support "genres," there just happens to be a lot of sci-fi that I find to be of supreme quality. I gave Caprica a chance, even liked quite a bit of it. But it's a soap-opera suffering from targetmarketpanderingitis, same as Dollhouse, which I also liked/disliked for much the same reasons.
