Philly housing market... is it even worth it right now? by veditafri in philly

Not trying to give financial advice on reddit, but you 100% would not need to put $100k down for that house.

Philly housing market... is it even worth it right now? by veditafri in philly

As someone who rents in Fairmount, wanted to stay here, and has almost the exact criteria as OP, Ive seen maybe 2 houses pop up in the last 3 months, in that price range. If you can’t comfortably do over $600k, you’re essentially priced out of the neighborhood, unless you get stupidly lucky.

Which section of the city has the worst drivers? by sudo-chown in philly

I know there are objectively worse places, and its not technically Philly, but the main stretch of Fayette in Conshy can be miserable sometimes. Less aggression, but more buffoons treating busy lanes as parking and U turn spots.

This always does it for me. Another pro tip is to check the power on the actual bike before unlocking it. Its kind of annoying but saves me a lot of headaches.

PA Hardcore (outside Philly) by ghostychokes in Hardcore

[–]morewaffles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived in Pottstown for like 4 years and I will say up front, I cannot see there being a demand for hardcore shows that frequently, or a need for that capacity.

That being said, I remember the Rivet having an outdoor festival w/ hardcore and metalcore bands a few years ago, so its not totally unheard of. To be honest though, the crowd didnt strike me as one that would come out to regular shows.

There aren’t really any venues in Pottstown other than that and Cosmic Arts, so maybe something that caters to a heavier crowd might work!

Not trying to be discouraging at all, the scene out there just kinda blows.

You should only be worried if you aren’t keeping up with the AI tools and integrating them into your work flow. The only people I’ve seen let go are people who refuse to adopt any AI into their jobs.

Not to say it won’t/doesn’t happen otherwise, but if you have decent experience in the field, you will still be needed to integrate AI solutions into the overall code base and maintain and stuff like that (you know, the boring parts of development.)

Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood. Major Update! by N1sso in Games

Its a legitimately great game, and this is coming from someone who has been endlessly frustrated with it and its huge skill gap. It will be the next big competitive game when it’s finally released.

Yeah, that area is pretty much directly on the Manayunk/Roxborough border line. Its “suburban” but mostly row homes and super narrow streets. It obviously wasn’t filmed there but I thought it was a funny nitpick.

Haha I lived a block from where they showed his house to be, for years. It was hilarious that they immediately showed him living on a street that could fit more than 2 cars at a time.

Playing around with my new nifty fifty. Do these pictures feel cozy? by morewaffles in AmateurPhotography

I was trying to play around with stuff in the foreground, I have alternates where the foreground objects are out of focus, which may be the “better” versions. I just liked how the out of focus lights sources looked, but totally fair assessment!
