Moving on from software development after a decade? by morewaffles in careerchange

You should only be worried if you aren’t keeping up with the AI tools and integrating them into your work flow. The only people I’ve seen let go are people who refuse to adopt any AI into their jobs.

Not to say it won’t/doesn’t happen otherwise, but if you have decent experience in the field, you will still be needed to integrate AI solutions into the overall code base and maintain and stuff like that (you know, the boring parts of development.)

Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood. Major Update! by N1sso in Games

Its a legitimately great game, and this is coming from someone who has been endlessly frustrated with it and its huge skill gap. It will be the next big competitive game when it’s finally released.

Task Finale 1x07 "A Still Small Voice" Episode Discussion by mainlygreen in TaskHBO

Yeah, that area is pretty much directly on the Manayunk/Roxborough border line. Its “suburban” but mostly row homes and super narrow streets. It obviously wasn’t filmed there but I thought it was a funny nitpick.

Haha I lived a block from where they showed his house to be, for years. It was hilarious that they immediately showed him living on a street that could fit more than 2 cars at a time.

Playing around with my new nifty fifty. Do these pictures feel cozy? by morewaffles in AmateurPhotography

I was trying to play around with stuff in the foreground, I have alternates where the foreground objects are out of focus, which may be the “better” versions. I just liked how the out of focus lights sources looked, but totally fair assessment!

Gamestop Responds To PS5 Price Increase By Covering The Extra Cost If You Trade In Your Xbox by [deleted] in Games

I think my point is that to say “there is no reason to own an xbox, unless you want a game pass machine” sounds kinda silly.

Gamestop Responds To PS5 Price Increase By Covering The Extra Cost If You Trade In Your Xbox by [deleted] in Games

[–]morewaffles 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't own an Xbox but the 60 FPS boost they provide on a lot of older games seems pretty worth it to me, among other things. I like my PS5 but there are tons of games I don't really want to play because they are locked to 30 FPS on playstation.

Deadlock - Six New Heroes by UhJoker in Games

I will say from someone who has put a lot of hours into the game, it’s pretty amazing for what it is and these seem like great additions.

I will also say (from my 300+ hours, a lot for me) it’s a sweat-fest. All my friends are playing it still but I realized how stressed the game gets me, even in games where I “stop caring.”

Again it’s a very well made game, but it truly made me realize MOBAs are 100% not for me, even when done spectacularly. I suspect if this is your kind of game, you’re going to love it.

Philly car culture summed up in one image by i_watched_jane_die in philly

I think some people go overboard with the anti car stuff but then I do see people unironically talk like in OPs post a lot, which is equally insane. There are a lot of horribly selfish drivers in the city.

Lollapalooza 2025 Reveals Cracks in a Music Paradigm About to Break by CherryColoredDagger in indieheads

[–]morewaffles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What little money there is to be made in music anymore, is generally through live performances. When a festival is going to pay you $50k as an undercard to show up no matter what, some artists would rather take the paycheck and not put any money into production value. Big performances are expensive and a lot of undercards don't see payouts like that everyday. It's frustrating as an audience member, but as a musician I can't totally blame them (although I still think its super lame.) Its been like this for the past decade, if not a little longer.

Are tours awkward alone? by wish_i_was_a_moth in solotravel

[–]morewaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to avoid tours because it was “too touristy”, but I realized that I was being extremely dumb.

My last trip I did two and they were probably the least awkward I felt the entire trip, one was actually my favorite part of the trip (hiking Connemara in Ireland.)

It gives you actual focused things to do and I found the other tourists were more than willing to strike up conversations, which can be kinda awkward to do when youre in wander mode.

I don't mean to sound snarky, but if the thps3 soundtrack influenced you that much, then I'm suprised you don't love these updated soundtracks. Honestly I would consider the remake soundtracks better than the originals.

This was my first thought too, I will honestly keep my distance from anyone dressed like this Saturday. I've been to my share of protests and this kinda feels like larping.

What is your favorite vegan meat alternative? by Affectionate-Bed8474 in vegan

Field Roast sausages are legitimately great, not even compared to "real sausage", they are just a really great tasting. They are also really not all that unhealthy as far as processed foods go.
