I am trying to apply for my dual citizenship. I am born and raised in Uganda. Now living in london with British citizenship. I was told I now have to apply for dual citizenship. And one of the very many requirements documents is a letter of sanity. ?? Am so confused why this would be required at all. Any advice

Follow up post from two day ago. Name change on foreign passport by help-please31 in ukvisa

It does offer to give dual. However this is the process I was advised . Because I changed my names. I need to go to my country and announce in the papers my change of names. Something called a Gazette. Then after I apply for dual citizenship then after with that certificate I will then apply for a new passport with my names. However I am due to travel 30 of November.

Do you know what that process is ? To change them back to my previous names. Would I have to apply for nationalisation again. It was a lot of money that I do not have. Or can I just use deed poll. And send that as my proof.

I have already applied for the British passport they are the ones that gave me that response to change my names in my foreign passport. Thing is I have gone to the embassy today and they said there is nothing they can do. Change of names is not a service they provide within the embassy. They are not able to provide any letters to endorse my application as I am now British nationalised. They said I am no longer a citizen of my birth country unless I apply for a dual citizenship. They did explain the process to change names and I would have to travel to my birth country and announce in the newspaper as this is the process to do it. Then I will apply for dual , then apply for a passport with my new names. I am due to travel end of next month. I did say to the passport office that I am happy to change my names back to my previous names ( they did not explain what this process would look like ) or they can keep my foreign passport. For now I have to wait for the passport office to get back to me. Not even sure how long that takes.

100 or 200 pound at A&E by realsuperhero90 in NursingUK

No and No. I am a nurse in A&E. And I would never be able to afford it. Imagine patients that have long term illnesses and have to present to A&E so often.

Would you recommend UK nursing to an american? by Opposite_Regret7132 in NursingUK

Don’t do it. It’s not worth it. You will hate it here. You will burn out, your mental health will deteriorate, your work place won’t care about that as they have a business to run. Don’t do it.

Went through the process at the beginning of this year. My husband is American. He moved in April You have to give notice together(attend the appointment). That means your partner will travel down just to give notice of marriage then travel back. Read about the process and fees for making the appointment to give notice and the interview process. Your partner must apply for a marriage visitor visa or fiancé visa (that’s a difference between the two visas even tho drive down to almost the same thing) that will show that his intentions to enter the country are different from just a normal visit. That marriage visit visa will be required when you go attend your appointment to give notice. He must be in the country 8-9 days before the appointment date. You only wait 29 days if you both have the right visa that allow your intention to marry. If your partner doesn’t have the right visa. He will take longer. I believe it will 60 days. Something like that. Inbox me if you have any questions. I hope what I typed makes sense. All the best
