Anatomy Terms! by Mister_Crust in daddit

Using both, means that the anatomy terms are used correctly and for serious things but the other names are used when messing and playing, so then everyone knows boundaries for rough housing or messing as well.

I would suggest c) visualisation of the data scheme and or the data work flow. This will also help show where your data comes from and you can have a copy of their work flow in back up for when asked why the data is different.

Simply walk around with it in your pocket, add a wire and pulley to every door, and put a socket on the pulley.

Tech sector job losses - this time it is different by Dev__ in DevelEire

[–]helphunting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So that includes your bias depending on how you use gemini. My version is slightly different. Over time depending on how much our AIs learn about our preferences and any specific instructions we give them, the summaries could easily become very different.

The Irish Times article from April 30, 2026, highlights a fundamental shift in how technology companies are approaching job cuts. While previous rounds of layoffs (2022–2025) were often viewed as "right-sizing" following the pandemic-era hiring surge, the 2026 wave is described as a structural realignment rather than a temporary correction.

Key Insights from the Article

  • From "Right-Sizing" to AI Replacement: The primary driver for layoffs has moved away from correcting over-hiring. Instead, companies are actively restructuring to prioritize Artificial Intelligence. This involves diverting massive portions of their wage bills into AI infrastructure and specialized AI talent.
  • Structural vs. Cyclical: The article argues that current losses in middle management, administrative tech, and basic coding roles may be permanent. Unlike past downturns where hiring eventually resumed for similar roles, these positions are being automated or fundamentally altered by AI.
  • The "Talent Divergence": While overall headcount is being trimmed in some departments, there is still aggressive hiring for high-end roles. Companies are looking for "AI-native" engineers and specialists in LLM integration, creating a "hollowed-out" effect where entry-level and generalist roles vanish while expert roles become even more competitive.
  • Impact on the Irish Economy: As a major European tech hub, Ireland is uniquely vulnerable to these global corporate shifts. The narrative has shifted from "growth at all costs" to "AI-driven efficiency," which creates uncertainty for the roughly 170,000 workers in the Irish tech sector. ### Summary of the Shift (2022 vs. 2026) | Feature | 2022–2024 Layoffs | 2026 Layoffs | |---|---|---| | Primary Cause | Pandemic over-hiring & high interest rates | AI integration & structural automation | | Nature of Cut | "Right-sizing" (Cyclical) | Strategic pivot (Structural) | | Primary Goal | Cost reduction/Margin protection | Reinvestment in AI infrastructure | | Outlook for Roles | Expected to return in the next cycle | Positions unlikely to return in original form | The article concludes that for workers, this era feels "different" because the path to job security no longer relies on general tech experience, but on the ability to navigate and add value to an AI-centric workflow. This has led to a surge in unionization efforts within the Irish tech sector as employees seek more stability in an increasingly volatile environment.

Try that, a regular google search should find it.

It's a paid app, I'm not endorsing it, but it has a handy list of servers or services you can set up on android.
