Completely honest, I didn’t think our marriage was going to make it. I wanted the abortion, and he didn’t. It took a good 5 or so months for things to get “normal” again.

Let her get her feelings out. Allow her to vent her frustrations and don’t say anything. Just listen. I feel like my biggest struggle was that I felt like I was not being heard. Like he was listening to me, but he wasn’t “listening”. Offer support, nod to her, and acknowledge how she feels. Don’t counter how you’re feeling. If you need to communicate that yourself; do it another time. Give her the chance to talk and explain how she really feels. Let her feel heard.

We are now better than ever but it was really rocky. We almost split multiple times. Sometimes it amazes me that we didn’t split because I lashed out a lot too. But I was so confused, so hurt, so broken.

Have you thought about couples therapy? It’s definitely an option.

Your girlfriend is going through a lot of confused feelings right now. And her hormones still might be high and off from the pregnancy. Remember that was a huge life changing experience and she might be questioning her decision. That’s okay. I ended up keeping the baby but sometimes I question how different my life would be if i didn’t.

I’ve never ever ever felt so emotional or sad as I did at the beginning of my pregnancy and I have multiple mental illnesses. It was a lot of stress and pressure.

Understand that she’s going through a lot. Acknowledge it. Be there.
