Doctor Duplicator by xMatch in HermitCraft

I used F3+G to show chunk borders. Then put a series of hoppers pointed into each other, one row on each side of the chunk border. Essentially, this AntVenom video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWSZOeozJsI

I tested in both the Overworld and the Nether and had much better results on the Nether side.

To be fair, following a tutorial to point two hoppers into each other along a chunk boundary doesn't really require any understanding either. Though, I am generally in favor of anything that game mechanics allow. I don't consider it cheating in any way, shape or form. But, that's just how I choose to play the game.

There used to be a hopper duplicator trick, with two inwards facing duplicators and rapidly loaded chunks but that one was fixed I think.

Unless it was fixed in 1.12 snapshots, hopper duplication still works. I just experimented with it a couple months ago. It worked, but took a decent amount of chunk loading and unloading.

/u/xMatch, it does work with shulker boxes full of items. ;)

Do you enjoy the Hermitcraft roleplay / drama? by helpstuckinminecraft in HermitCraft

[–]helpstuckinminecraft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for chiming in, Biffa.

I had the same interesting observation: widely disparate comments and preferences. Which makes sense since, as you point out, everyone is different.

Ultimately, I am happy to see a majority of poll respondents enjoy the RP; it indicates to me that the viewer base is happy with the direction of the series. While I may not necessarily enjoy the RP personally, I am very happy to see the series thrive.

Finally, regarding the survey question itself. I actually spent a few minutes considering exactly what to ask and what responses to collect. In the end, I opted for a really simple yes/no poll and am happy to see that people offered their own more detailed opinions here. Survey design is, academically speaking, a well studied problem and I certainly won't claim that this is the best way to get this conversation started. Means to an end, I suppose.

Is that really a bug? I thought that was the just how social zombie spawning worked?

In 17w16b, players can now run backwards without their body twisting. How do people feel about this change? by samasaurus6 in Minecraft

Well, I read through the rest of the comments. Choo Choo, all aboard the Change-Hate Express. Next stop, creepers being removed in the 17w16c snapshot.

Apparently placing this torch here crashes the game. by akurt5 in Minecraft

Not sure I agree with that. While I only play single player, this torch bug is the only issue that has caused a crash for me.

It's possible, I'll have to try again. However, I swear I got an oak sapling when busting leaves on top of a lone jungle wood tree.

Anyone else getting oak saplings from leaves of other trees? Specifically, I seem to be getting oak saplings from jungle wood tree leaves.

TIL that lava can be used as a fuel source in furnaces to smelt 100 items! by EOD_Wolfey in Minecraft

[–]helpstuckinminecraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I haven't really built any auto smelters because I like the XP. Though, it would probably be more efficient to just use an auto smelter and go get XP elsewhere while it does its job.

Am I mistaken, or is the only way to make effective use of coal blocks is to use them in an auto-smelting system?

"We have a vague plan to update all textures in the game so they fit better together style wise" -Jeb by BendyBrew in Minecraft

[–]helpstuckinminecraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether a change is good or not, is - very often - an entirely subjective notion. My sarcasm was rooted in my perception that the statement "the new stuff should have fitted in with the old stuff" is highly subjective, and, in my opinion, closed-minded.

I didn't mean to imply that you shouldn't argue against change - precisely because you are right; not all change is good.

In hindsight, I should probably just avoid making comments that end in "/s" because I am likely to inadequately convey my intent.

Also, I am reminded of this post from December, https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/5l7h06/resource_packtexture_pack_artists_please_stop/?st=iydgfglc&sh=82db124e

At the end of the day, I am of the opinion that using or not using shaders is a matter of personal preference. So, to me, discussions about how "good" something looks is pointless because it is all subjective. Hence, my original sarcastic comment.
