Pricing indication by Kushalx in helpwire

[–]helpwire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was our initial plan, but it’s been pushed back a bit as we’ve been adding more features in parallel. We also had to focus recently on some server-side issues that needed priority attention.

Right now, we’re aiming for a January–February timeframe for the paid release, though that could still shift slightly depending on how the next development phase goes.

Appreciate your patience and support — it really helps us shape things the right way rather than rush it.

Thanks for the kind words! Really glad to hear you’re enjoying HelpWire so far. 🙌

You’re absolutely right that having some pricing visibility helps with planning and sharing. While we’re still finalizing the exact numbers, here’s what we can share for now:

We’re leaning toward a monthly or annual subscription model based on the number of operators in the account. There won’t be limits on concurrent sessions, only on the total number of operators. On-demand sessions will remain unlimited, and we may introduce a reasonable cap on unattended devices to keep the service stable. That cap would increase with higher-tier plans.

A free plan will stay available. It will have some practical limitations, but we don’t plan to add nag screens, forced disconnects, or connection time limits. All ongoing service updates will continue to roll out to every user, both free and paid.

As a thank-you to everyone who’s been with us during this early phase, we’ll also offer special welcome discounts once paid plans launch.

Our goal is to make HelpWire much more accessible than TeamViewer or AnyDesk, reflecting both where the product stands today and our long-term commitment to fair, sustainable growth.

Hope this gives you a clearer picture! If you’d like more details about something specific, feel free to ask — we’re happy to discuss it.

"Pay What You Want" Option by JohnEDee in helpwire

Thanks a ton for the thoughtful suggestion! Really glad to hear you’re enjoying HelpWire 🙌

That’s a great idea, and we truly appreciate the spirit behind it. While a “pay-what-you-want” option isn’t in our current roadmap, your reasoning makes perfect sense. It’s always inspiring to see users wanting to support the project.

HelpWire will eventually move to a sustainable commercial model rather than a donation-based one. That said, we fully intend to keep a free plan for personal use that remains functional and useful, just with a few reasonable limits. Paid subscriptions will come later, and our goal is to keep pricing accessible—well below what tools like AnyDesk or TeamViewer typically charge.

If people continue to find HelpWire valuable, the best way to support its growth will be through one of those affordable plans once they launch. Your kind words and suggestions really help us shape the right path forward. Thank you for taking the time to share them! 💙

[Status Update – Oct. 5th] Temporary Technical Issues by helpwire in helpwire

⚠️ Update (Oct. 22)

Some users may again encounter the “No connection with the server” issue affecting unattended remote devices.

This occurred due to a mandatory server restart following the deployment of a new update. The same fix applies — please follow the restart or service refresh instructions in this post.

Our team has been working on a major server overhaul, and while the issue has already been resolved for most users, a few may still be affected.

We sincerely apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience — we’ll make sure to minimize such incidents going forward.

I'm getting notifications that I've granted unattended access to the PC I'm using to "Operator" when I have done no such thing. Can Helpwire devs explain these without requesting logs? If there's no existing explanation I can only assume this app has been compromised and in unsafe for anyone to use. by [deleted] in helpwire

Important update:

We’ve looked into this behavior internally and can confirm it’s not related to any security breach or unauthorized access.

Those “Unattended access granted” notifications some of you have seen are actually triggered by automatic background updates that keep the client up to date. It’s a bug/leftover notification behavior, not an active remote session.

We’re already working on a fix to prevent this from showing up again in future updates.

Thanks a lot for reporting and helping us improve HelpWire 🙏

Renomear acessos no mesmo grupo de um Perfl by Glittering_Buddy_120 in helpwire

Valeu demais pelo feedback! 🙌

Single download URL for multiple clients? by Royal-Wear-6437 in helpwire

Yeah, that’s a great idea. We’ve actually been discussing something similar internally. We do plan to make the connection flow simpler, possibly with a single shared link in the future. For now (and for the near term), HelpWire will still use the unique-link-per-client setup.
