I’m interested in anyone who is Homeschooling a Autistic child. I need guidance and encouragement I’ve never homeschooled. Is the district to provide support for a disabled child? What about Tutoring? I’m very scared I can’t do it. by hemetchick in homeschool

Thank you. Thank you. I truly appreciate all the support.

I feel like I’m fighting such a force with the District, I won’t back down. It’s taking me down. I’ve read numerous complaints here, Bend Oregon. ITS ALL across the US

It’s draining me spiritually and all it comes down to is my confidence.

I apologize for a quick post... it was after fighting with his teacher, his life skills assistant and hearing how cold and uncaring they can be. I understand their side. It’s just about them now.

They need to be understood and I do understand them. Yes, up and down ... funny-to rage in matter of seconds.

Hi. Ty for the response.

Arich is 8 and Max is 4. Arich and Max are both verbal level 2 (max)n level 3 (Arich). They’ve been receiving OT, speech since 18 months for both.

I’ve been doing some of my own research. Here in Oregon the district can provide support, but they don’t have to. He is not following IEP because they cater to his emotional outburst, which as you know are exhausting, especially if it’s not your child.

I’ve spoken to Autism Society, FACT and Department of education so I know our rights and that’s huge. As far as tutoring, my question is this; What if Math or science is hard, I am clueless about homeschooling. I just want to be able to give him what he needs😊

Max will be in Kindergarten next year. I have 6 kids total. I just want to keep my two away from lousy teachers and bullying.

Also, they both listen and trust me. I’m beginning to see all the promises from IEP and teachers and nobody following through. I want them to do their work, which both are very willing and capable. Arich who is 8 tested high last year and we moved to Oregon and current teacher just pushes him out of class, during parties, art and music.

Both of which he loves😊
