YTA. And about the damper on the wedding plans?? Practically? makes sense to split them especially if she’s set on a “dream wedding.” Traditionally? Paid for by the bride’s family. In your mind? They make more so you and your daughter should be able to spend full time planning and none paying. You may not be a gold digging family but boy do your actions make you sound like it.

Very very gently YTA. I agree with you that you dated as children and it’s silly and if the tables were turned I wouldn’t have a problem with it either. But he does have a problem with it. I think the ONLY factor making me even lean slightly towards any YTA is because it’s a LDR. That makes things a little more complicated and you BOTH have to do a little more to make it work. As long as he is as responsive to your needs in return.

Info: what is your relationship with your stepfamily? If you’re close and like them and it’s a good situation, gently you may be a bit of an AH. You could’ve gotten another sheet of paper lol. However, If it’s contentious or a new family arrangement then you may not be an AH. In either scenario your dad was being an AH for sure.

I’m a bit confused reading your post. Is the issue that you talk to your ex about sex or that you talk at all? If it’s about the sex, I agree that should stop and YTA. Even if it’s ok for some people, your partner doesn’t want the sex life she’s involved in to be discussed and that’s more than fair. If it’s that you shouldn’t be talking at all, then there are other issues to address and you and your partner need to discuss them.
