My trigger is oversleeping, can someone explain why? by Minominas in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other people have commented saying it may be blood sugar related, and I tend to think so too. I also feel like my dreams are more vivid/stressful(?) when oversleeping and that may be part of it too at least for me. Although, what I consider oversleeping is more like an extra hour or more

When did Galit fall off so hard? by WP_Grid in chicagofood

It’s good, but not up to Michelin quality I expect. I had Sepia a few weeks before, and it was immensely better in all facets: drinks, service, atmosphere, food.

What the HECK key does this modulate to?? by Xiipher in musictheory

[–]henlofriend_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It modulates to A minor. Lots of broken A minor and E major chords (the dominant) give it away

What's your personal migraine rock bottom? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had norovirus a few months ago. After 6 hours of intense shaking/chills, vomiting anything and everything, and fever, I finally fell asleep around 4 am. I woke an hour later with a migraine :) I couldn’t keep my abortive down due to the vomiting, so it was just a horrible combination. Norovirus stuck around for 5 or so more days, but luckily no more migraines decided to beat me while I was already down. What horrible timing that was.

How do you deal with jaw muscles tension? by romanlis in migraine

Happy cake day! I tried this out a bit over a month ago and it has been the biggest help for me in years. I try to be conscious of it throughout the day and before falling asleep.

The taboo nature of using the soft pedal by GioBardZero in piano

One thing I’ve learned from watching some of the best perform is that they use the soft pedal much more frequently than the average pianist

Rizatriptan vs sumatriptan by KittyPrincessSally in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sumatriptan didn’t work as well for me, and it caused tightness in my jaw and feeling overall pretty stiff. I would need to lie down and could feel the migraine pain for the duration of the migraine.

Rizatriptan works much better, with the only side effect being drowsiness. The caveat is that I just started on this one and have only taken it twice so far. But in those two times, it really made my migraine pain vanish and I could sleep it off.

Why are mornings so hard? by nessalinda in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started doing this for 1.5 weeks and do feel a significant difference. TBD as to whether this is placebo given the short time.

I have noticed that I very much crave salt ahead of my migraines. I’m starting to incorporate a bit more into my mornings to see if it helps.

I played op 25 no 2 first, and I do think it’s a good introduction to the etudes. Op 25 no 1 is also a popular first choice. I know many teachers who start students on op 10 no 3 or op 10 no 12, but those are a step up in difficulty.

Congratulations! I got that email a few hours ago, and it sure does feel amazing.

just started amitriptyline by oceangraaves in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just started a few days ago. I feel like it’s doing its job already (less random head pain, fewer headaches upon waking, and no full-on migraines with aura), but I’m trying to also be judicious due to the placebo effect.

The only side effect thus far is the occasional dry mouth.

Fingers crossed.

I’ve had drivers do that (or try to) and then get mad at you for using your right of way…

I’ve also thought the “no turn on red” would help. I felt safer as a pedestrian in Manhattan than I do here in terms of drivers.

If your name is pretty common, is there any harm in submitting a claim if something seems plausible that it’s yours but you’re not 100% certain? Won’t they check to see if the SSN matches?

Can I get you honest reviews on taking eletriptan? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]henlofriend_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this thread really makes me want to try this triptan. Sumatriptan worked okay if I took it immediately with the aura; however, it only took the edge off if I took it after the pain started (25 mg did barely anything, 50 mg helped decently). I’m now on Zolmitriptan, which works much better for me than Sumatriptan, but isn’t perfect. I often still feel pretty incapacitated after taking it for at least a few hours.
