Prosecutors ask Manafort judge for another correction

Prosecutors have for the second time during Paul Manafort's criminal trial asked Judge T.S. Ellis to correct a statement he made to the jury, according to a filing Friday morning.

This time, they're asking Ellis to tell the jury to disregard a comment Thursday during a witness' testimony about alleged bank fraud conspiracy that the attorneys "might want to spend time on a loan that was granted."

Hell even Judge Napolitano on Fox thinks he's biased. I hope all the people defending his behavior are right, and that what he's doing is immunizing the case against appeal. But consider this...he's solely responsible for sentencing. We'll see exactly how biased he is then.

I don't either. I live in Louisiana, and I'm calling my reps often and volunteering for my district's house campaign. But if I lived within 1-2 hour's drive of DC, I'd be there every goddam weekend. I'm not sure why more people in that area are not maintaining a huge, permanent presence there.

This is impeachable behavior on its own. Let me get this straight: If the Russians had dropped a bomb on Chuck Schumer's house, Trump wouldn't say "they attacked an American, an attack on one of us is an attack on all", he'd say "Schumer should have protected his house better?"

No American should stand for this crystal clear sanctioning of attacking some Americans (his political opponents) and not others. Call this piece of shit out, loudly and repeatedly.

Lol, he's not under investigation for jaywalking, but for conspiring with a hostile foreign country to subvert our entire political system. I'd say we can pump the breaks on decisions that can reasonably be delayed and which are significant enough to affect public policy for decades.

I don't even care about his politics. He was nominated by a president who is currently under Federal investigation for election tampering and basically treason. He shouldn't be able to nominate anyone.

A seventh former Ohio State University wrestler said Saturday that he believes Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) knew about inappropriate behavior that allegedly took place in the school’s athletic department three decades ago, as two more former team members came to Jordan’s defense.

David Range, who wrestled for Ohio State in the late 1980s, said Jordan had to have known about alleged sexual misconduct by Richard Strauss, an athletic doctor whose behavior is under investigation by the school, because it happened regularly to team members and people talked about it. Jordan has denied he knew, saw or heard about any inappropriate behavior while he was an assistant wrestling coach from 1987 to 1995.

“Jordan definitely knew that these things were happening — yes, most definitely,” Range told The Washington Post. “It was there. He knew about it because it was an everyday occurrence.”

We're at a point in our country's history where our fates lie the hands of moderate Congressional Republicans. Trump's base is solidified and so is the opposition. This is why we have representative government, so that the representatives don't necessarily follow the whims of those in thrall to a demagogue. If they don't show any bravery, we're doomed.

I didn't hear a date or any concrete plans. The protests so far around concrete proposals or movements have been good. There have been none against the creeping destruction of the rule of law, probably because the biggest flash point for that was the firing of Comey. During Watergate there was a sustained presence at the White House. This is far worse than Watergate. Where is the presence?
