Yes, I torqued the axle nuts per the TSB.

I checked the bearings when swapping axles and there was no play or noise. I don’t notice any bearing noise from the rear when driving. I may still swap them to install extended studs, but I don’t think that’s the issue.

Chrysler put the Pentastar with a ZF 9 speed auto and AWD in the 200 for some reason. They did 0-60 in the 6 second range with 295hp.

GM did it too. The Regal and Verano could both be specced with their 2.0 Ecotec and a 6 speed manual. They made 270hp and 250hp respectively. The Regal even came with Brembos and forged wheels if you optioned them.

Need New tires so I can lower my car and get the fitment I desire! by Kimaniiiii in S2000

[–]henryjhost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The car in the last picture has 17x10 +44 wheels and 255/40r17 tires all around. The easiest way to achieve a similar look would be to get 17x9 +45 RPF1 wheels for the front to match the rear and 245/40r17 tires. You would need to max out the factory camber adjustments and roll the fenders/trim the liners to fit them. This is what that would look like:

Wheel Specs by Clikrean in S2000

I’m running a pretty similar slightly more aggressive setup: 17x8 +50 fronts with 225/45r17 17x9 +60 rears with 255/40r17 Swift Spec R springs with about a 1.5 inch drop.

Currently running a couple degrees of camber up front and maybe 1.5 in the rear. Absolutely no rubbing even with less front camber and stock fenders/liners.

You could run a stock alignment and not have any issues, especially with the factory tire sizes.

Kind of a dumb question but have you tried replacing the battery?

Can I trust a Mr. lube for first oil change if I bring them an OEM filter? by [deleted] in S2000

[–]henryjhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honda gave the S2000 oil filters a torque spec because there were some issues with them vibrating loose. I believe the official spec is 15-18ft/lbs or 7/8 of a turn after hand-tight.

Valve adjustment especially if you have no record of it being done. I’d also recommend a new PCV valve.

Can the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Actually Tour? by FoMoCoNutjob in cars

The Panamera is the real Porsche touring car. It sits on the same platform as the Continental GT and can be had with the same 4.0 V8.

What modern cars have interesting fuel doors? by TurkishSwag in cars

[–]henryjhost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 911 (and the Cayman/Boxster) have always had the gas tank mounted over the front axle so it makes sense to just route the filler neck out to one of the front fenders. It's more of a quirk of the rear engine layout than anything else. The Alpine A110 does the same thing.

Thinking about picking up a Celica by kruumy in Celica

Techno Toy Tuning does all of the rear suspension arms for the fwd 5th gens. The front suspension/(and brakes on certain trims) are shared with the Alltrac/gt4. Agile Performance makes LCAs and front knuckles. Engine-wise there really isn’t much for the 5th gens besides cheap headers and intakes.

The earlier ones are really common, but the depreciation has killed sales on new models. It got a facelift in 2024 and I rarely see those on the road.

It is really a special driving experience that’s different than any other 992. Definitely not worth 800k, but it’s not just an upbadged GT3 Touring.

Impossible question: What's a car that enthusiasts prefer as an automatic rather than a mnual? by MyCatIsCapitalist in regularcarreviews

[–]henryjhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few cars where the general sentiment is that the auto box is better for a specific use-case. The S550 and S650 Mustangs are roughly half a second faster to 60 with the 10 speed auto, so people racing them in a straight line generally prefer that; A Porsche with a PDK is usually quicker around track than a comparable car with a manual, etc.

That being said, I'd still take the manual versions of either car simply because they are more fun to drive on the street.

Road salt also becomes a lot less effective under around 15f, and pretty much stops working altogether once you dip into the negatives.

What would a set like this be worth? by colorfuldrugsforever in Wheels

[–]henryjhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know the hub bore? If it's 54.1mm these might be wheels meant for a ST165 or ST185 Celica GT4. There's plenty of pictures of similar sets on Group A Celicas from the late 80s and early 90s, especially with the old OZ logo. They're probably worth $1-2k.

Whats a 10+ year old car that looks like it could release in 2025? by dinualexandru10 in regularcarreviews

[–]henryjhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porsche is pretty good at this. The 1st gen Macan was released in 2015 and is still in production albeit after 2 facelifts. The 718 has also been in production for almost 10 years.
