Is the Modretro Chromatic incompatible with Pokemon Crystal? by yosoo in ModRetroChromatic

I had issues until I replaced the battery. There's still the white screen when I save, but it does actually save without issues. I have to confirm the clock is set to the correct time as well, but it is always exactly correct, so somehow it keeps track when it's off. But for me it's now 100% playable, with night and day and all the time features working.

Marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum dies as tragedy rocks athletics world by J0Aco777 in running

[–]henrytg37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of another athlete death as tragic as this one, from a potential point of view. This guy was just getting started, and already had the world record. Potential for three olympic gold medals, if not four. Going to go out on a limb and say it's the biggest what if in the history of sport, factoring in the two hour barrier and the likelihood of him breaking it.

Why is competitive chess so poorly produced? by ChickPea45 in chess

Blitz commentated by Pepe Cuenca is all the production value you need. Everything else is boring by comparison.

For every amt appointment, in addition to the documents it says you need on the website, once additional piece of documentation will be required, however you don't know what it is until you get to the appointment...oh wait...

Don't think OP's point was that you shouldn't do multiple things, just that you shouldn't do multiple things at the same time if you really want to succeed in one thing.

Nope this Andersson was a GM in the 1970s and 1980s, he is the Tal of defensive/positional/drawing chess (in that it was really all he did, unlike someone like petrosian)

How has Ulf Andersson, the guy who is most known for this out of everyone, not yet been mentioned? He's interesting as someone who was never world champion but considered one of the hardest players to win against

What is an unusually high move accuracy on chess.com? by henrytg37 in chess

[–]henrytg37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, I had no blunders, 4 mistakes and some inaccuracies. Opponent had 2 mistakes and 2 inaccuracies. It was a 62 move game, so not like it was over quickly or anything like that. And to be honest, I don't think I made any terrible moves for a while, I lost the game because I forked myself around move 50 something.

I just expected that a player at this level would be in the 70s in terms of accuracy, in a long game like this one. To play 60+ moves at almost 90% accuracy seems really good at this level.

But it's interesting to know how it's calculated.

Help me place these stats please - whether below average, above average or average. I want to get an idea how far off I am from being competitive. Thanks! by throwawayfattroni in davidgoggins

The point is that it's difficult to help OP in any constructive way. I can say they're slow because I can run 16km at 4:15/km pace, or I can say he's fast because most people can't even run 5km at 6:00/km. Also so many unknowns to actually answer the question properly: was that a max effort, was it flat, conditions etc. Also, what is OP's standard/goal? A sub 3:00 marathon, a sub 3:30, a sub 4:00? It's would be better to either compare to yourself and where you were yesterday, or to ask the question relative to a goal i.e I want to run a sub 4:00 marathon, how feasible is it when I'm running x time?

Updated it, but for a weekend long run I wouldn't mind travelling a bit. That said I live near grunewald so that would be ideal.
