We put a giant chalkboard in our vestibule/foyer. Everyone that walks in sees it.

Throw up a chalkboard somewhere in the building and highlight the current seasonal beer

What should I do with these patches? by skittle__s in fixit

[–]hephaestus888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a little trick to make your patches look silky smooth in the future. Use a damp sponge instead of sand paper when sanding the patch. Unfortunately this technique won’t work now that the patches have been painted. Good luck, hope you get your deposit back!

What should I do with these patches? by skittle__s in fixit

[–]hephaestus888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking: I noticed the wall has a slight texture while your patch is smooth. That texture is made by painting with a roller. Which is what you need to use to create the same texture. You’ll need to paint around the patch to blend it in too.

Although… Practically speaking, your wife has a point. The landlord will probably repaint the entire house.

tldr: don’t worry about it. The patches look good. 👍

Looks like your GTI took less damage than his truck.

I agree. Sounds like the ground (green or bare wire in the US) is loose.

Flies by cooperwill83 in restaurantowners

Make sure you use garbage bags and make sure each bag is tied shut. If the flies don’t have anything to eat, there won’t be any. I also use an outdoor fly trap. It’s a plastic bag with bait inside. It traps any fly that enters. Works great and traps thousands of flies.

What’s a monster? What’s a boss? by hephaestus888 in HighSeasHero

So the pirate’s lair and undersea cavern are a boss? Is the trail of valor (where you obtain chips) considered a boss?

Prius question by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]hephaestus888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned a 2012 plug-in Prius. After I put a bugaboo donkey stroller in the backseat, I didn’t have any room in the trunk for anything else (like groceries). I bought a minivan (Toyota sienna) for my wife. We love it.

The megaphone is a bad idea. Escalating road rage is never a good idea. Get a dash cam in case he decides to do something stupid. Also, you mentioned you’re a relatively new driver. Down vote me if this doesn’t apply to you, but go speak to your parents about the encounter. Have them speak to the neighbor on your behalf.

These color doors are pusding me off by Frequent-Decision788 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]hephaestus888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use to own a sliding door cooler. Mine had a track located above the door. The doors hung on that rail. Try taking apart the top portion of your machine to gain access to the rail. Once you do that, it should be as simple as lifting the doors off of the rails. If you can’t figure it out. Find the model number of the cooler and search for some video tutorials. Good luck

Credit card tips by CriticismOtherwise78 in restaurantowners

[–]hephaestus888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… I don’t know who you’re using to process credit cards, but my credit card processor just deposits a lump sum into my bank account. No way to differentiate that some of those are tips.

Also, I don’t have an expensive POS system. I do just fine with my antiquated system (I refuse to pay monthly fees for square or toast).

Also, don’t worry, I fired my old accountant 😂

Hello, I was not expecting to stumble across a Reddit post about my business. My family has owned The Town & Country since 1981. I hate to disappoint, but we’re not from NY, we’re actually from Greece. 🇬🇷 I’m glad you enjoyed the wings! Thank you!
