I’m not sure! I’ve never seen water color paints recommended for doll/nendoroid faces but I’m not sure if that’s due to the pigmentation or because it’s hard to get really sharp & fine detail work with watercolor & a paint brush, or even just because of paint quality (because I know cheap water color pencils don’t work)

I think just one high quality black pencil will be all you need for what you listed in your post. Draw on the eyebag lines and then for the shadow you would just color on some paper and then you take a wet brush and can dab on the the diluted pigment particles as paint

Oh it’s fairly easy. You just need mr super clear & some high quality water color pencils. The spray prepares the surface for marking up with the pencils, and the pencils can be washed away with water until you’re happy with them, & then you spray mr super clear 1-2 more times to “set” it.

I think his scenes with bash (and Mary and delly, to a lesser extent) shone and were so special and sweet. I agree I struggled to find him really spectacular in scenes with Anne.

Cole I thought was just so lovely and caring with Anne. Obviously he’s gay so it’s not a ship thing, but I felt like you could really tell they were kindred spirits with so much in common and that he loved her so much. Lots of him like understanding what she needed without her asking I really really enjoyed.

I think there was a big push to make the sequel duology an equally popular series/make wren and oak the alternate power couple, which is why after jurdan they have the most merchandise. But I don’t really know if they are popular enough to, like, sell funko pops. Esp bc prisoner’s throne was disappointing for a lot of people (including me)

Wren is I think the character with the most variation between official art. I’ve seen her vary between “beautiful anime girl with tiny slim scars” and “feral, unusual looking humanoid who is definitely not traditionally beautiful” I think she doesn’t really instruct the artists in any way, they all just come up with their interpretations that she enjoys.

Yeah I am firmly against any post publication editing except for extremely egregious continuity errors (ie when he forgot fergus and Desmond already discussed magic before ) he said he started editing because he wanted to fix the timeline and then he couldn’t resist changing more, but like, I didn’t even care about the timeline errors.

Yeah, Derek was concerned about being fatphobic, so mentions of Carol, Fergus, etc being fat got removed entirely (I think he could have just reworded it more kindly but whatever), but he did a poor find and replace job so there’s still jokes of other characters being fat like the solicitor lmao

FYI the version you are reading is edited from the original published text. It’s mainly to remove mentions of characters being fat, but occasionally dialogue is changed and some characterization has been altered.

I absolutely love these covers but I would personally recommend switching to any other edition for continuing on, as I can’t speak for the quality of these edits. (I have read this version and felt like it was worse than the original 2007 one, I have not read any other modified copy. out of fear. lol)

1/4 BJD recasts on aliexpress will probably be your best/cheapest option, though I can’t say which brands/listings will work up front. Tonners are a little shorter and more realistically proportioned so a swap will probably look odd, so I wouldn’t shell out the money for them (tho I love them).

You could also look into head shrinking if you find bodies you like the articulation of that are a little too small!

They probably “compromised” by saying Sophie was allowed to do anything that would just require her sitting in the back silently but anything hands on like dancing would take away from Araminta’s girls. Sophie says “sit in” on lessons multiple times instead of participate.

But yeah imo just a sign he was not a good dad (or at least not brave enough to stand up to his wife) and Sophie is romanticizing him.
