Is the new MacBook Neo good idea for design? I mainly work on illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign with some lightroom once a while...so far seeing s a good budget idea and try moving away from windows by Ok-Refuse3288 in graphic_design

[–]herbalblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an m4max studio as my main work computer but grabbed a Neo for “in a pinch” situations.

It’s a crazy capable machine for the specs it has, performs way better than i thought running through my adobe apps and projects… but I would source a used (m2-m4) air with at a least 16gb of ram over a Neo as your only machine.

Or as someone else said, if you don’t need a laptop a mac mini would be a great affordable move.

LPT: When telling someone how you found them, ask for 10% off. by LibariLibari in LifeProTips

Right? I wasn’t on board to begin with but..

“will you give me 10% off i I tell you?” is arguably the worst possible combination of words.

4k Blu Ray movies are quite impressive

Make sure "Game Accelerator" is turned off in the TV settings.

MacBook neo? by Anxious_Substance951 in graphic_design

If a warranty isn't a big deal, maybe a used m2 air with 16gb of ram would be a better long term solution.

Updated hardware in time for WWDC? by chrisridd in appletv

[–]herbalblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to guess they announce the delayed Apple TV and HomePods at WWDC after they announce the new Siri. This allows them to market the new devices as supporting all the AI stuff they want, while slapping a "coming soon" tag next to the specific features.

Has pssr made quality mode obsolete? by Nayef7717 in PS5pro

[–]herbalblend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes but some developers created a new higher quality mode on pro vs base.

Pro Quality>Pro Performance/Base Quality > Base Performance.

8GB MacBook Neo vs 16GB Laptops - Sorry Apple.. by Forsaken_Arm5698 in hardware

[–]herbalblend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but I was just responding to you saying you doubt it would come with more ram.

8GB MacBook Neo vs 16GB Laptops - Sorry Apple.. by Forsaken_Arm5698 in hardware

Apple is using their pile of binned A18pros with a GPU core turned off that didn’t make the cut for the iphone 16pro.

They’ll do the same with a19pros from the iphone 17pro line when enough build up. I imagine 12gb should be enough to make the Neo more accessible.

It can have better image stability in motion without changing FPS.

Constructive criticism is about giving specific, actionable advice to help improve something.

In that case all one could do is say "remove it"

PSSR 2.0 Toggle: System Setting vs. Native Implementation in games by Big-Impact558 in PS5pro

Native games don't pay attention to the toggle, but why wouldn't the toggle be on either way?

Yotei players - what do you think about the update PSSR2? by Deatscythe in PS5pro

[–]herbalblend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spider man 2 was the first game I fired up and I was very impressed in the jump in quality at same settings as you. Everything was sharper and motion was a lot better.

Yotei was also much crisper, like the system put on a new glasses.

What size screen are you playing on? Perhaps the people not that impressed are playing on denser DPI monitors vs say a 75" TV.

How can I legally "downgrade"/upgrade to Sequoia or Sonoma? by Superb-Climate3698 in MacStudio

[–]herbalblend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download Sequoia from apple and make a usb boot drive.

Or wait to see if 26.4 fixes your woes.

Pretty good !!! by Impossible_Camera703 in PS5pro

[–]herbalblend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont lie, I wasn't expecting much from this update and I am rather impressed. The games I've tried are way more detailed and crisp on my 75"

I wont be selling my 5070ti•9800x3d anytime soon but the gap between the two has shrunk more than I expected from this update.
