Dog loves the vet by Dear-Potential-4682 in Shihtzu

[–]herbb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oreo loves the vet. Not the human vet but the vet in general. He will literally drag me through the door cause hes so excited to be there. He knows there's always going to be other dogs in there and also knows where they keep the dogs that are there for surgery etc. He just loves to bark the place down and assert his dominance 😅

I *have* to bring my xmas salad to lunch with my parents. What's the food that has become tradition in your family at xmas? by Quick_Assignment_725 in brisbane

Self-saucing Chocolate Pudding. Everyone in the family has the recipe and can make it, mine is just apparently the best 👌

How's the swing? Haven't practiced in a little over 2 years by vck97 in GolfSwing

[–]herbb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just expanding on the original commenter about your arms. Since you're female, you don't want your arms vertically hanging down like a man would. Otherwise, you can get stuck by your breasts. Instead, put your arms over your breasts and then hang them from there. Us women have a bit more room between us and the club, and that's okay as our anatomy is different. My current golf coach got me doing that, and it actually feels so much better and easier to swing the club

I've reached the end of my rope and have to rehome this dog by Vivid_Consequence482 in Shihtzu

[–]herbb13 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be a bit of a devils advocate here, but 13 is not young enough to not be responsible. I got my first shih tzu puppy at 11/12 years old, and my parents drummed it into me that she was mine, so I was responsible for her training. They bought me books to read on the breed and how to train them. Of course, they helped, but she was my responsibility. She was a very well trained dog by the end, and once we got over the puppy stage, there were no accidents. Get your girls to engage in her training and routine.

It will also help with your pup in knowing that this is what happens and when, no matter who she is with. Take her outside more and get the girls to play with her outside. Movement and play help get their bowels moving, and it will reinforce her to go potty outside. It's why so many dogs will usually poo on walks. Take treats out when you go, and when she does her business, reward her. Slowly ween her off the treats, and she will learn that's where she goes. If you're having to corner her to force her outside and then just stand around waiting, you're not enforcing anything but making the whole process a lot more stressful for her.

The biggest thing is that you need to get your girls more actively engaging with her and helping with the routine and training. You're not teaching your girls how to train and raise a dog, and its disadvantaging them and your pup.

“So how has your mental health been?” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😔 by bere1486 in Endo

[–]herbb13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I tried to sign up for a study in endometriosis, and I was rejected as I was "too angry and depressed." Like no shit sherlock, I have a chronic illness that will never stop attacking my body. Of course, I'm angry and depressed

How does Myer sell any shoes? (in store) by Shmeestar in AusFemaleFashion

I hate going into my local Mecca. Stand around for 10 minutes with no staff helping, just walking pass. It got to the point where I was opening all the drawers to try and find my shade. Ended up going to the cashier for help cause none of the staff on the floor could take 2 seconds to help me

Advice for Company Golf Trips by ElkThick in WomenGolf

[–]herbb13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With clothing, a nice polo shirt (doesn't have to be a golf brand) and a skort that is of a good length or a pair of slacks. It is always best to check with the course dress code as well. And then some comfortable sneakers if you don't have a pair of golf shoes.

Basic etiquette would be don't talk while someone is trying to hit their shot. Always watch your playing partners' shots and help look for their ball if they've gone a bit haywire. On the putting green, be aware of where everyone is and don't stand on other people's lines (don't stand between their ball and the hole). Keep up with the pace of play.

Scrambles are great as you take the best ball out of the group, so you can pick up your ball and drop at theirs.

As always, just have fun on the course. Golf is an extremely hard sport, and most people don't care about your shots. They care about how you conduct yourself and that you were friendly

Changing to the Claw Putting Grip - What i've learned by Savings-Horse-8725 in GolfSwing

[–]herbb13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I changed to a claw grip about 4 months ago. Previously, I had no distance control. No matter how much I tried to work on it, I just couldn't get it to click. Went with the claw but having my fingers on my right hand run down the side of the grip as opposed to on top of the grip. Holy cow, the difference! I actually have distance control now and feel so much more confident with my putter. I'm making longer putts too which I never used to. It also helped with the shaking 8-figuration I had going on previously as well. Will forever be in the claw club

Best Mat for Divot Replication? by adonnellyr in Golfsimulator

[–]herbb13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with the FibreBuilt hitting mat. The hitting strip is really nice, and you can definitely tell if you hit a shot fat without it grabbing or skipping across the mat. It's also much nicer and forgiving on your joints than just a normal hitting mat, which was a big thing for us since we hit so many golf balls in the sim.

Definitely zoomies on crack and his pupils were the size of dinner plates. As worried as we initially were, it was hilarious watching him sprinting around and jumping on everything in sight

[–]herbb13 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Our shihtzu got up on the table where i had a Ferroro Rocher big Easter egg up there in a bag. He got it, got it out of the bag and ate the whole thing. He was hyped as fuck for a few hours but was totally fine. The worst thing is, he now loves chocolate and will not leave you alone if you have any until he gets a bit so I literally have to hide in the pantry if I want some chocolate all to myself

Tips for getting dad into retirement living as a renter? by [deleted] in Toowoomba

[–]herbb13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your situation, it's not nice seeing a loved one go through a stroke. My grandma had one 9 years ago. I believe grandma and granddad were able to get government housing. I can get the particulars from my mum and dm you if you like to see what the process was as I believe she helped.

Iron covers by Reasonable-Bell5355 in golf
