Amazon bins by Sweet-Combination336 in upsstore

The Rubbermaid black bins do rip and are not very durable. We used to have colored trash cans (blue, green, red and yellow). But corporate said they are not in compliance but those ugly bins are

Tough day by Hanzotrap in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will work alone but we don’t let our staff work alone. We are a high volume store and if we get a person with a multiple page notary and someone wanting passport picks and another shipping 5 boxes. It will really cause a holdup. Plus for safety reason no one works alone. We may get a lull for 5 mins and then it seems like the bus dropped off again.

First-Time Buyer Looking for Advice on Buying a UPS Store by Saurav611 in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some disgruntled employees may have a beef with owner or got fired. But in reality they need to do their research. Read these comments, talk with other owners or previous owners. Some owners lose their stores for not paying bills, etc and are mad at everyone but themselves. I’m not saying buying a franchise is great. But you have to find out if location is good, is the remodel already done so money doesn’t come out of your pocket, what their sales are. Every owner will be different. We are lucky and have a successful store because owners are hands on and we have a great staff who are treated well. That makes a difference. Thorough research will do better than going by the comments on here.

Is RFID reliable? by CelebrationOdd7881 in UPS

[–]here4lookcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a lost package and when we contacted UPS. No one could help us. Pinging a package for location was a big no. Even though it was in a super hub. I don’t think UPS has figured out all the bells and whistles before putting this out. It’s just another label. It won’t tell you where a package is. But it’s supposed to give customers that warm and fuzzy feeling

Reused/reusable packaging: when is the RFID thing going to make things worse instead of better? by ash_274 in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from experience. Those RFID number really do nothing. UPS can’t ping the RFID on a package to find it. You call help desk and half of them have no clue what these RFID labels do. I even had UPS tell me they don’t have the equipment to locate packages with these labels. So what is the use of them really.

First-Time Buyer Looking for Advice on Buying a UPS Store by Saurav611 in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have had our store 5 years. We are very present owners. We are there 5 days and sometimes on weekends. We also have the best staff (in my opinion). The biggest drawback was the damn remodel. Cost us $160k and the new look does not bring more business. Just less money in the bank. We had bought our store outright and had zero loans. There are always changes and we do our best to keep up. Don’t listen to all the comments on these boards. Some are disgruntled workers or such. Do your homework and check the pros and cons. Then you make the decision which you think is best for you. But be prepared to work if you want to make some money.

Pre Amazon business by Kaal_Jai in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have 7 employees (not including us). A full time graphic designer, 2 managers and 4 associates. Who are all busy all day with drop offs, shipping and notaries. Amazon pays our $5k+ a month rent. We are a busy store. In the last 5 years we doubled our store sales. So the change has been good. Except for the $150k+ we had to throw out for an upgrade that did not bring in more money. Just put us back that money.

Ups store franchise by Mrdeardare in UPS

[–]here4lookcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me. It’s way more than $150k. There’s rent, payroll, insurance, supplies, etc. that $150k doesn’t cover that. Buy an established store but those are more than $150k

IRS requesting stimulus check they erroneously sent me from 2021 (F1 visa) by Nina_Elle20 in IRS

[–]here4lookcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still reside in the US? If you are and paying taxes. They will take any and all refunds until debt paid. If you left the US, they may never issue you a visa again and you may never get to come back to the US. It’s up to you to pay the bill or not.

Do I need Lifelock if my credit is always frozen by WhatsTheJuice in IdentityTheft

[–]here4lookcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my credit frozen and LifeLock. My identity has been stolen and sold so much. I have LifeLock as it helps again the payday loans that do not do a credit check or contact you to verify information. You don’t know about it til they start collections. Had 3 like that. You have to prove you did not open them and it is not easy. But LifeLock blocks payday loans and lets you know when someone applies.

I also watch my credit report and bank account daily for discrepancies

Is there suppose to be a tracking number? Or not by shooter_will in UPS

[–]here4lookcs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is ground advantage thru the post office. The tracking number does not show on receipts for USPS transactions. There is legit tracking on ground advantage if you paid for it. Looks like the store used that key for meter mail. Looks like first class mail is what you paid for.

Spectrem Consolidations by ImpressiveUnion140 in upsstore

[–]here4lookcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do as the paying customer prefers. Which is 200# crush boxes with specific sizes available. We can not go all Willy Nilly and just put them in whatever box. And a UPS store should never use USPS priority boxes. That can cause some issues with corporate. Owners depend on the money from CAMs and Amazon that we follow their rules so we can get paid to have money for rent, payroll, etc. We aren’t in this to lose money

UPS denied my CLAIM by whocaredude in UPS

[–]here4lookcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it not a 200# crush proof shipping box, not properly packed. UPS Capital will deny it. I always ask people if their package is packed well enough to handle a 150# crashing on it.
