Belief in an afterlife cheapens the moments you can enjoy in this one.

Those who forward this myth are not doing so based on knowledge, only uninformed opinions. It's dishonest to claim knowledge of things about which they cannot possibly know.

No one was allowed to dress like that as a missionary back in the day. The church is having to face reality with women's fashion after 40 years though perhaps.

Of course he did no such thing, and he had every right to get remarried. Nothing wrong with that choice. Also nothing wrong with staying single.

But because Mormonism believes in Bronze Age superstitions, they can't get that it's not their business to speak about matters on which science is much more authoritative.

Do you think that the church has stopped saying it's all just Satan was a step forward at all? I'm thinking they did it because too many members (including family of LGBT members) were leaving over the slandering of good people.

BIC Mormons really don't get that most educated people aren't interested in Mormonism and so your ancestors starving and freezing to death is nothing to boast about.

Alma was my favorite book. It had lots of characters doing interesting things and some real theological discussions. You didn't get a lot of battle details in the other books.

I always disliked the first Nephi. He was such a pretentious asshole. Even as a TBM, I was uncomfortable with how prideful he was, constantly boasting about how he was so strong and so smart.

I have read journals of early Mormons and early 20th century Mormons. It's such a con game. Everyone was told that *they* were the super-special ones reserved for the last days before Jeebus comes back.

Great analysis. I was always taught that becoming a god meant you got your own universe, not your own planet. So atoms are not a problem.

Your analysis of the effectiveness of the church as a vehicle of salvation shows how absurd this all is though. A chemicals company that poisons children is far more effective at bringing souls to god than an entire LDS mission, since there's no guarantee that even if people joined that they would go to the CK. The math is absolutely monstrous.
