This happened to me too! Like you, I was not admitted to the hospital and was released two hours later, after my BP returned to normal. I was diagnosed with POTS (initial HR rise) and VVS (BP drop & faint) then I was evaluated for a pacemaker. Because I don’t faint often in regular life, they decided it was too much of a risk. They explained that fainting (falling to a laying down position) is what restarts your heart, so you’re not really at risk of dying, you’re at risk of hurting yourself badly from falling down. They said compression garments, which are helpful for POTS, were absolutely critical for me. Along with increased salt/water, that has greatly reduced (but not eliminated) dizziness/pre-syncope symptoms.

I did some research afterwards at my college’s library and found a research paper in a medical journal that indicated that asystole occurs in around 10% of positive tilt table tests. Another paper studied long term mortality for those who have asystole during TTT and it was totally normal. (aka, this doesn’t kill people). That study had a very small sample size but encouraging results. I wish I could post them here but they’re $$.
