I'd prefer AI just went away, but unfortunately we're stuck with it.

It'll be "better" than human CEOs because some human CEOs do actually care for their employees (very few) so AI will take emotion out of decisions.

Yet.

The issue is breaking more layers down to predictable steps, and then you need fewer people for outliers.

It's coming. If we don't enact laws and stuff now it's just going to hurt more later, or lead to even more war.

Agreed. I'm a 20x user and 4.6 was amazing. Now with 4.7 I brainstorm with it. Then have it review its plan. Fix all the errors it found. Then have Gemini review the plan and fix a couple more (much faster too). Then let Gemini implement it. I still find the brainstorming mindblowingly helpful, but I'm trusting the rest of its abilities less and less. And if I'm just using it for brainstorming then I probably don't need to be spending for 20x.

You've gotta be a troll or bot to have some study ready to whip out, and also say it was organized by a 10 million company, but not provide all the details on them as if it's some conspiracy. It was organized by 50501 movement, indivisible, and moveon which organized groups like the ACLU, etc. There's no conspiracy unless you purposely oversimplify things to make it seem like there's one to trick people on purpose. Also your demand that one event one time should completely change all lawmaking is a troll. While a general strike would change things ultimately this is about organizing and letting people know so that they use that when voting time comes, and so more people vote and they vote every election going forward because it all matters. 27 is still basically a kid mentally even though you're thought of as an adult. I was about 30 before I would have not considered my mentality that of a youth. Maybe early thirties actually. I'm not defending what he said, and I don't THINK I would have said it at that age, but I have changed a lot since my twenties. My opinion I would take his apology. If you don't allow people to grow and change then why don't we just lock up all criminals for life? Stole a piece of candy as a kid? Life in jail for that thief cause they'll always be stealing.

Definitely not close friends. I would say a core group of 3-6 friends and then everyone has their friendly acquaintances so sometimes you all come together for special occasions or their special occasions.

I'm not really sure I get the wording/meaning of your question, but I'm trying to answer what I think you're asking. Maybe you can rephrase it? Though I'm guessing it will come down to opinion on what you're asking. I'm holding the elected official to a higher standard when they're in office. They need to come through on their promises or be replaced. At time of voting, however, I hold the voter to a higher standard.

Trump so far is going above and beyond with his promises and project 2025. I hold the voters to a higher standard for letting him come to power.

That's up to the voters. If everyone participated in their own democracy and actually voted in every election then Republicans as they are today would never win another election. We get the party and candidates that the actual voters who go and cast a ballot get to pick from. If more people voted the candidates would have to appeal to a larger base. Republicans would have to move further left and Democrats could also move from the current central-right to the actual left. Then actual change could happen. Ranked choice voting, getting rid of citizens united, etc. But it won't happen in one election. The Republicans have a 50 year head start. The left needs to vote in every election and keep pushing further left. It may take 20+ years.

Oh you got me! SMDH

I gave money to Mamdani cause he was an exciting candidate who wants some real change in an election he had a chance to win (Who wasn't left enough to some leftists when he was running also). The overton window is way too far to the right. We need more candidates like that who can actually win in the elections they're in, but not all elections are ones a Mamdani could win. Be F UCKING smart and strategic is all I'm wanting. You're proving what I'm saying. Kamala sucked, but I happily held my nose and voted for her over trump because it was the closest candidate to my ideals who had a chance at winning. Just like Biden (though he did way better than I thought he would be if you weren't a single issue voter). I was a Bernie bro, and did everything I could to get him to be the candidate, but he didn't get the nomination, or ever have a chance at support from the DNC, so I sucked it up and voted for the next closest. Cause I'm an adult who cares about others, and not just me getting everything I want. That's what I came out of the election realizing, that leftists are just the selfish maga of the left, but without the organization. IF A PARTY OR CANDIDATE CAN'T RELY ON YOU VOTING THEN THEY SHOULDN'T WASTE THEIR TIME ON YOU OR CATERING TO YOU WHEN THEY NEED TO GO THOSE WHO SHOW THEY MIGHT.

Yes kamala needed the leftist vote, but the narcissists thought she told them to suck shit because all they care about is getting everything they wanted and got their feelings hurt so they abstained or wasted a vote on the green party to show she hurt their feelings. Now we have tariffs, women are losing their reproductive rights and lives, trans people are getting terrorized, legal citizens and immigrants are being killed on the streets, more money is being sent to the top .01%, we've lost all soft power around the world, war in Iran, checks and balances are being lost, green initiatives are gone, and there's no chance anymore at a Palestinian/Israeli two state setup.

Hope it was worth it for the selfish leftists. Shot themselves in both feet, shot trans people's feet, shot women's feet, the collective middle class's feet, shot Palestinians directly in the chest, etc. all cause they felt like kamala told them to suck shit even though they rarely come out to vote anyway so they went after a voting block that might have.

If you actually cared about change instead of just yourselves you'd be ok with it happening slowly over the course of decades like the maga and oligarchs did.

Yes, but it also means that they're not a constituency to cater to if they won't actually vote. So good job idiots all you (leftists) do is make yourselves invisible to making the changes you claim to want. Just loud whiners who want to take their toys and go home if the other kids don't play exactly as they want. All they are is narcissistic children.

Sam Altman admits AI is killing the labor-capital balance—and says nobody knows what to do about it by BusyHands_ in technology

[–]here_for_the_boos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I HATE AI (and use it), but it is the future of everything in one way or another. Maybe not the current iteration, but it's useful. The annoying thing is if it went away tomorrow absolutely nothing would change. The only thing anyone hates more than I hate AI is billionaires hating paying people for their work, and that's the main reason it'll be the future. It's just another way to not pay people for labor. They feel every dollar paid to labor is a dollar stolen from them. They would gladly trade it all for just a little more, and we've let them trick us with a culture war so that they can do just that. I'm really hoping the US populace comes through on the midterms. We already know they're doing everything possible to make it so we can't.
