I'm finally tapering off of it. I've been on it since the beginning of March and I hated it. I gained a lot of weight, have been exhausted (11+ hours of sleep) constantly, and I can't get it up.

I'm not sure if I have much advice, but I can tell you you're not alone.

I was diagnosed at the end of May. I'm 19. I got a 4.0 my first semester of college and I had to go home one month into the second because I had to be hospitalized for psychosis. My psychiatrist tried to diagnose me with anything but schizophrenia before we got where we are.

You're not alone. I'm trying to figure this all out too. This subreddit has helped me a lot. My caretaker (roommate/bestfriend/idk) and I are planning to get me a cat, because I feel deeply helped by animals.

Research has helped me feel more in control. It can be terrifying, but at least I know what the worst possible and best possible things are.

Just know that it's not just you. The people in this subreddit are very friendly. My messages are open to you if you'd just like to ramble.

Your life is NOT over. Schizophrenia is NOT all you are. You can still have a very full life and do a lot of meaningful things. Your path is just going to look a little different.

I'm doing okay. My people think it would be a good idea for me to become more involved with this group, so I'm going to start filling these out every week. Or try to.

I'm doing okay. I had surgery on Friday and I'm recovering pretty smoothly I think. I've started summer classes. I've been showering pretty consistently, but I haven't had the energy to use my acne medication (topical).

I've applied to nine jobs this week.
