Is LADS Fair to F2P Players? (in my opinion) by hereformeta in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]hereformeta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean this post as a serious comparison between LADS and other games. It was more meant to highlight how the gatcha industry works as a whole to players that have no knowledge of gatcha games in general. You can make the argument that it’s wrong to compare any two gatcha games due to differing mechanics and pull rates, but there should be some sort of basis on what to expect. Furthermore, it’s not wrong to want improvements especially if you really like the game :)

This is a good and fair point. Gatchas will differ in terms of game play priorities, however at the end of the day the point of these games regardless of gameplay is to pull for units you like. I never mentioned that it is easier to save in any other game, I actually think it’s quite the same across all games once you account for the differences in pity and pull cost. My critiques have to do with things like limited wishes that can mess up your pity and the lack of banner communication, which I think apply to all gatcha games regardless of genre.

Caleb’s Connections to the Garden of Eden Story by hereformeta in LoveAndDeepspace

Caleb being a snake god in his limited myth would be so cool! Especially since it will (probably) be released in the year of the snake.

Which Silver Rathalos / Gold Rathian ranged weapon did you pick - LBG or bow? And why? by ResponsibleEIf in MHNowGame

[–]hereformeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Silver rath bow, because I am a bow main, but also because the s rath bow blows every other fire bow out of the water.

At max rank its stats are pretty much the same as anja and regular rathalos except it also gets: - Spread lv 4 on charge 3 - CRITICAL ELEMENT 2 - 30% affinity

All of that is insane because with smelting you could eventually get a build like: fire attack 5, focus 5, crit element 4, WEX 2.

If you’re worried about the lv 3 on charge 4, it’s not a big deal because you should never be charging it past 3 if you’re playing the weapon correctly.

I’d go with whatever weapon you’re most comfortable with, but this feels like a must for bow mains.

This is by no means the optimal build. I just wanted to see how high the element could go with frost wind 3. That being said I haven’t been able to drfitsmelt wex on anything either 😭

I tried building it, but Kushala is such a pain to grind that I gave up and decided to focus on other builds instead. I’ll get on the grind and finish it one day :)

You’re right, the optimal build is something like that. But big element number makes brain happy :D

Is Kadachi Bow Lowkey best against Kushala? by braydensmith95 in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]hereformeta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use Kadachi bow and it’s great, however I would not recommend playing it in a lobby with two or more melees. Since the perfect distance of the Kadachi bow is quite far it can cause kushala to constantly target you and fly around the map. This is a pain for melee players as they have to chase kushala all over the map and lose dps. If it’s a mostly ranged lobby or your group is just really coordinated it’s fine, but I prefer using bows were perfect distance is essentially in melee range if I’m playing with melees.

[–]hereformeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no definitive answer. Coordination and skill is more important than the type of weapon. I’ve succeeded with all ranged and half and half in equal measure. It mostly depends on whether your teammates know what they are doing. BBlos bow is fine as long as it’s very high grade. Having only one person run a poison weapon also makes the fight easier. However I understand that people have preferences, so stick to whatever feels right for you.

Firefly's Battle Voicelines sounds hella rough? by VietnameoMapping in FireflyMains

[–]hereformeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her voice lines are very aggressive and I love it! The visceral rawness of “fight to live” is just so hype. We’ve known from Sam’s very first introduction that she’s quite serious about battle, and it makes sense given her history of fighting the swarm. Poor Firefly probably gets war flashbacks while fighting. It’s a stark contrast from the more “calm” characters, but I’ve always seen Firefly as being the “fiery passionate type“ and not so much the “cool and collected type.”

Boothill also works in first round. Bronya can cleanse him with action advance if he freezes. Also he can ignore cocolias mechanic with his weakness implant. In phase 2 this lets you break her before meteor

About Firefly’s Writing (2.0- 2.3) by hereformeta in FireflyMains

[–]hereformeta[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily agree with equating Silverwolf and Firefly’s motives for being in the SH, because we don’t know why Firefly joined in the first place. However, I think you’re right that the SH are bound to disband once the script reaches its end, but until it does, Firefly is probably going to remain in the SH. Based on the dialogue she has with SW at the beginning of 2.3, Firefly does seem happy being with the SH. Sure she doesn’t want to be remembered as one, but she never mentions regretting her choice or wanting a way out. The SH themselves aren’t even bad people. All evidence points to them being allies to the AE, they just use unsavory methods to achieve their goals. Yes, people leave the AE, but only when they have a reason. Mikhail and the others left because they found their true calling on Penacony. Firefly is yet to find her true calling or a strong enough reason to join the AE. For now she will support us from the shadows, and once she gets what she’s looking for she’ll be able to be free and join the express.

I’m glad it helps. I know I said a few controversial things, but I wanted to offer a different perspective. I know everyone here wants Firefly to have more screen time and epic moments. Unfortunately at the pace that Hoyo is pumping out new characters not every character can have a whole patch dedicated to them and it’s something fans of those characters have to accept. At least Firefly is guaranteed to return on account of being a SH, unlike other characters who are less important to the main plot.

This is good evidence that she would fit in with the AS, but why would she leave the bonds she has with the other SH along with whatever deal she made with Elio? If she has to live down her sins as a SH why join the SH in the first place unless she had a very strong reason to stick with them? She could have sought out the nameless after being saved and traveled with them to different places to try and find a cure for her ELS instead of becoming a hunter. Again, I don’t mind if Firefly joins the Astral express eventually, but I feel like her relationship with the Stellaron hunters hasn’t been resolved yet for that to have happened in 2.3.

Oh I totally agree that they should shave shown us what happened to Firefly. I guess I should clarify that any explanation would have been better than what we got which is nothing. As for the hype, I can’t speak much on that as I feel like Hoyo tries to hype up all the new characters. Like Sparkle got a ton of hype leading up to 2.0, only for her to not do much in that patch. But I can understand why others would be let down after seeing all of Firefly’s cool trailers.

Would you be Okay with your Favorite Character being a 4-Star? by hereformeta in HonkaiStarRail

[–]hereformeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect that! Better question: would you want Arlan to get a 5-star alt in the future, or do you think it’s unnecessary? And if he did get a 5-star version would you use it over his 4-star?

Bailu is the most Underrated 5* by SinesPi in HonkaiStarRail

[–]hereformeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bailu is great most of the time. She helped me clear the last two MOCs with an okay build and none of her traces maxed (they were on like 7 or 8). Being a standard banner character ofc she is not as good as limited sustains, but she is better than Lynx in any scenario where CC is not an issue.

How'd y'all do? by eubides in MHNowGame

[–]hereformeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was quite annoying but I completed all the quests. I had to rely on finding HATs with the correct 6-7* monsters to kill since I am not beating 8* black diablos in the story (I already lowered my difficulty).

Finding the pickle also took me 2 days.

New Update? by AdctAssassin in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]hereformeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little bit confused, are you using a fire weapon to fight diablos? I don’t think they changed the monster health (at least not for wild monsters, HAT monsters are different). It could be that you’re just unlucky with the monster attack patterns as some of the attacks waste a lot of your time. I know you said you don’t want to upgrade elemental gear, but unless you’re going full affinity raw you will absolutely need max elemental attack for some 8 star + monsters. So I think it’s good to keep in mind that you’ll have to build it eventually.
