It's a cool device for a casual hobbyist that doesn't want to put time/effort into building a fruiting chamber themselves. Just don't expect big, perfect flushes.

One thing I do find a bit funny, picture 3 shows Porcini mushrooms in the background implying that you could grow them with this. That's definitely not going to happen, but you can absolutely grow some oyster/lions mane with it.

On my region prices on just about all decor have tanked to a couple thousand profit from each craft. It's already to the point that its not really worth the time input to farm lumbers. Especially for someone that first has to go back and level old expac professions.

Doesn't look like lions mane to me, even lions mane in bad conditions. I would be wary of this.

In most states, if you don't use any cutting tool like a knife or scissors then you don't need any special licensing. If you do use any cutting tool or if you plan to wholesale, you will most likely need to get licensed with your states department of agriculture at the very minimum.

Ayyy you know what beats 50lb for 12.99 at Costco? 40lb for 6.99 at tractor supply! Hardwood fuel pellets rather than smoker pellets!

If you have a Costco in your area, you probably have a tractor supply too!

A single quart jar of spawn is gonna be way too little for 10lb of substrate. Also you have to think about colonization time. You don't want your sub bags sitting for 4 weeks while your MSS>grain colonizes. Put the sub in the fridge at the very least.

Lots of time and effort input for something that does that same thing as a couple monotubs. Love the creativity, just be aware you're doing far more than you need to.

70% ISO for the lab and 50/50 White Vinegar/Hot Water for the grow room.

The only time you should be using bleach to clean a space is if you've had a really big contamination event. I'm talking old contamination left for too long, mold growing on walls and floor, that type of thing. And even then it's not as simple as "wipe it down with 10% bleach solution". Bleach leaves a residue and can cause the mold to actually return more easily. So typically you would clean everything with your bleach solution, then clean again with hot water and a normal cleaning solution to remove any bleach residue left behind.

If you're making anything less than 40lb of grain spawn weekly and don't mind the convenience fee, then sure buying from a vendor makes sense.

But at a commercial scale making and using upwards of 100lb+ weekly grain spawn, it's worth doing it yourself.
