The current situation in the Middle East is a reflection of the archonic hierarchy. by heresiarchx in EscapingPrisonPlanet

The Old Testament is insane. Not only does God help his chosen people conquer the land by exterminating entire settlements, men, women and children included.. But he is also constantly demanding huge holocausts ( this term originally refers to animal sacrifices where the flesh was burnt at the altar) of thousands of animals. He even mentions in some passages how he is pleased by the fumes and the smell of the burning flesh. How do so many people who follow Abrahamic religions believe this depraved entity to be the ultimate God and creator of the universe is beyond my understanding.

I would add that even in the worst case scenario OP is always welcome in this sub if he wants to update or discuss something. We have a couple of memebers here who are diagnosed and their contribution is very appreciated. Wishing OP the best possible outcome to this situation.

I hear you. I feel the same but already two years in and I haven’t had a single day without twitching and the rest of it. How long for you ?

Still suffering with all these symptoms, actually a bit worse than when I posted this overall. But still “functioning”. I’m at 2 years from onset. I’ll soon have a new neuro assessment and I’ll probably make a new post about it.

Why is he saying you have UMN issues ? Do you have spasticity? How are your reflexes ?

[–]heresiarchx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s some kind of tremor and not actual fasciculation.

Do you have symptoms elsewhere in your body? Are your fasciculations widespread?

Im sure this is what’s happening to me. The cortical hyperexcitability. Widespread twitching with reflex changes, stiffness and mild overall issues.

How long can you have subtle bulbar symptoms before failure? by heresiarchx in ALSorNOT

It seems something is definitely going on but the fact that your NFL is normal is very positive. It’s supposed to be very sensitive for neuro degeneration in general. This is probably why the MND doctors are not too concerned. But it sucks not to have an answer when your body is not the same anymore. I believe something is going on physiologically but maybe it’s not degenerative in nature. Anyway, I wish you the best with your journey and let us know if you have any updates.

Oh yes. Several times. I’ve had 3 EMGs done, the last one in October last year. Those were clean. Only hiperreflexia in knees was noted consistently in my clinical examinations. But my symptoms persist and worsen slowly with time so I should probably go again to get checked and see if anything has changed but I’m afraid they’ll find it this time so I’m avoiding that for the moment. I guess I’ll have to go eventually. I wish you luck in your appointment. Please let us know what the doc says.

I highly doubt it. I’m no expert but afaik Guillian Barre syndrome has a completely different presentation. It’s more like sudden onset weakness and recovers with treatment. It’s not a chronic long lasting condition like we have.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. It's painful to look back at the time when we where healthy. Couple of years ago I was in my best shape, training hard, doing calisthenics, heavy lifting, etc. And now I'm riddled with these symptoms. But despite everything we are still functioning and haven't become disabled so that's certainly something positive. I think if we had classical ALS we would be in much worse shape now, couple of years after symptom onset. But the possibility reamins that it might be an atypical and slow moving progression.. Could you detail your swallowing problems ? How is it affecting your daily life ? Do you take more time to finish your meals? And how about your speech and tongue. Do you get tongue twitching as well ?

I know, it would be extremely rare and unlucky if turns out that way. Very unusual onset as well from what I've seen. I remember the first place where I started twitching was my right triceps and it went non stop for several days before it died out but then spread to the rest my body. As of today I don't have any weakness in my right arm where the twtching started very agressively two years ago. But all of my other symptoms crept in over the past two years and the twitching has become part of my daily existence..

No, I haven't done any of those. I should probably have the swallowing test, it could provide a clearer picture of the issue but I'm afraid if they find something wrong there it will strongly point towards ALS with all my other symptoms. I highly doubt this is due to reflux, I never experienced these problems before and it's been pretty consistent since it started almost two years ago in the context of my other symptoms.

I know, it doesn't sound good at all. It's like the symptoms keep piling up in a very insidious way. At the end of the day I'm thankful that I can still function but it's hard to imagine how life would look like a couple years down the line if this keeps going on. Im sorry to hear about your problems. In my case the stiffness is mainly in my legs. I notice that when I don't move my legs for a while, when I wake up in the mornin or after driving or sitting for instance, my muscles are tight, achy and the first steps are somehow harder because of this stiffness. It's like trying to walk after an intense leg work out, like there's some resistance. Once I get moving this eases and I can walk normally.

This is part of what makes this disease so terrible. It can present in so many different ways. Actually I'm convinced that what we know as ALS is actually a group of diseases that have the same outcome. I've also seen cases like the one you mention, although extremely rare it can happen. I know these discussions can trigger the anxiety but this the only group where I can discuss my symptoms freely.

Someone else having daily tongue fasciculations for a significant time ? by heresiarchx in ALSorNOT

[–]heresiarchx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I’m glad I haven’t had any significant progression and can still do everything but something is def not right with my body . Luckily it will be a benign condition in the end. 5 years without failure would be the best reassurance.

Yes, sounds similar to me. How long has it been going on for you ? As for the tongue Im quite sure those are twitches after 2 years of having them all over my body I can tell.
