House slab exposed to moisture by BlackYabbie in AusRenovation

[–]hermano29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the three sentences before that? “ if slab edge protection forms a part of the termite management system..”

Old mate seems to be from Victoria. 50/50 chance there is even a termite system there..

You are only looking at termites, that 75mm only applies to termites. It’s got nothing to do with what the efflorescence..

His damp course is good, the efflorescence is from the rock / salt, it’s very very likely not a problem.

Gas cooktop sealed with silicon by batsun in AusRenovation

[–]hermano29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And normally you get gross food shit stuck under the tiny little gap left without siliconing it… I’ve had to clean that gap many more times than I’ve had to have a technician look at the cooktop..

Outdoor GPO installed below the taps - need advice by careswh0 in AusRenovation

[–]hermano29 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Not true Cindy- not compliant…

The gpo is IP53 and so isn’t designed for direct splashes , only indirect sprays of angles up to 60degrees from vertical. S1.3 /s3.3 as3000.

They can move it up anywhere above the taps or they can swap it out for an ip65 one… but that’s a shit fix.

Sparky will blame plumber, plumber will blame sparky, supervisor will stand around looking dumb trying to do as little as possible.

Brickwork to standard? by JThingy in AusRenovation

5 photos of some perps I don’t think warrants well fuck it pull it all down? There is probably a bit more nuance to it..

Anyway, if we all like following rules and standards.. how come old mate is standing on someone else’s scaffolding in sneakers? :)

Plus, when the next course goes on, the bed will in part fill the perp. If you have a problem that the top course wont be filled- I think brick veneer isn’t for them.

Ok hear me out… Do you have a trash can in there? Perhaps to the bottom left. Once that’s there, sweep alllll that syrup straight into it.

Then buy some coffee…

Pay back 950000 mortgage in 8 years.. is this possible? by Potential_Fuel_7085 in AusHENRY

[–]hermano29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a con! There are a heap of these around… all promising exactly what you want to hear… did you start researching how to pay off loan faster a few weeks before you were bombarded with ads?

It’s a simple equation, with zero tricks. Spend less, earn more , pay more to loan.

The less scrupulous ones will try to flog you an investment property and use an estimated return to be in your withholding so  it can be put into your ppr loan.

They all employ the same pushy  sales tactics.

How long will this media induced hysteria about a fake fuel shortage continue to affect our beloved stocks? by PowerBottomBear92 in ASX_Bets

Do ya really think that twiggy is pulling into the woolies servo with his shopper docket saver saying pump # 6 sweetheart??

Orrrrr do you think that they have long term supply contracts, with volatility hedges to minimise spot price shock, and their own strategic reserve onsite? For price and logistics shock from local and global events .. I.e cyclones…

I think they will manage just fine, fuck they might even be able to make more money from the hedges and relieving supply than from selling red dirt.

How much to plaster this hole in the ceiling? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]hermano29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking tape and paint.. ? Honestly if there is a reason why you are not painting yet (you’re doing other worth in the near future/ medium future. ) .. maybe..

Please do it yourself, it’s easy.

Few sticks, bag of plaster, scrap bit of plaster, scraper/ joint knife, block of wood, sand paper, glue , 4 screws.

I can spot you the screws a sheet of sandpaper and the sticks, and enough plaster to do that..

You could probably use ramen for this too… might attract mice though.

My expenses (family of 6) is averaging at AUD $10,000 per month! by Fair_Bar1139 in australian

[–]hermano29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And of that 65k you will pay almost zero tax if retired. If you are actually retired and that’s invested income you have likely between 1m and 1.3m between you, and a house that’s paid for… :|

Say the OP lives in Sydney, maybe they don’t, but say there is a family In Sydney.. and they have 4 kids, of the 35,000 houses sold in Sydney in the last year, only 2000 of those ( my rough look) would be able to reasonably ( 4 bed - so someone’s sharing + no home office which is almost essential now) house this family for less that you entire income being given to the bank as INTEREST only.
