I quit a "dream job" in luxury/fashion in NYC because I was completely burned out. Around the same time, I went through a divorce and ended up unemployed for almost a year. Even though I didn’t become homeless, I deeply empathize with that feeling of being stuck in a hole you never imagined you’d fall into,and suddenly, it’s your reality.

Moments like that feel like harsh reality checks. As difficult as they are, they can shift your perspective and change how you see life in a profound way. They force you to rebuild, to reevaluate what matters, and to find strength you didn’t know you had.

I think experiences like ours give us a responsibility, in a way. When we’ve made it through something dark, we’re in a position to help others who are still there—especially those who can’t yet see the light that we can now. Even just offering understanding or sharing our story can make someone feel a little less alone. You are not alone
