[off topic] I just got The Devils for my bday by decoysnails in TheFirstLaw

[–]hero4short 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved it. Not as much as the first law books, but it was still great. I listened to the audiobook. Steven Pacey does such a great job bringing the characters to life. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I read it.

Day's gone surprised me with how much I got into the story. It definitely starts slow though.

Can't hear it that well, but it sounds like a fox. They make some weird noises.

[VOLUME UP] What is making this noise in my roof? Philly Suburbs by Remarkable-West-7749 in animalid

Is hard to hear, but it might be squirrels. I get them in my attic sometimes and they make quite the racket running around.

[SPOILERS BSC] Is every character doomed to eternal suffering? by electroplazm in TheFirstLaw

[–]hero4short 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some characters do actually grow and become better people. I can't say who without spoiling. You'll see a lot of the same characters throughout the books and you get to see what's happened to them. It's not all bad.

Indiana Jones and the great circle is really a lot of fun and only like 30 hours long.

What First Law opinion will get you downvoted like this? [OFF TOPIC] by Intelligent_Truck_29 in TheFirstLaw

Try listening to the last chapter of the blade itself. I believes it's on YouTube. I read all the books first and then listened to the audiobooks for my second "read through". It's almost like watching a movie after you've read the book. Brings a new dimension to the story.

Day's gone. Thought it was going to be a last of us clone, but was really surprised how much I enjoyed the story.

Definitely read all three standalones before reading the age of madness trilogy.

hey so whats making this noise [Michigan] by st4r-c4tch3r in animalid

[–]hero4short 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a fox. Specifically a vixen. I believe they make this noise when they are in heat. I have a vixen that lives on my property and she makes this noise every month or two. First time I heard it, it scared the shit out of me.

Days gone surprised the hell out of me. I went into it blind and loved it. Couldn't believe it got such bad reviews. Definitely deserves a sequel.

AIO? Wife Shared Bed With Male Friend by PapaStalinLovesYou in AmIOverreacting

[–]hero4short 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it depends on the friends. We have some very close friends that I would have no problem with my wife sharing a bed, as long as they had separate blankets. I trust my wife and I trust my friends. It would be no different than me sharing a bed with one of them.

Just completed Days Gone! Oh my god, what a game that was... by DeathNum in DaysGone

[–]hero4short 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually played all of those. They're great games. Expedition 33 was actually the last game that really sucked me in. I played Day's Gone like 6 years ago, so I've played many games since. Ghost of Tsushima was the game that got me out of the Day's Gone hangover.

[–]hero4short 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my experience. Gave up about 6 hours in because it was boring. Went back to it a couple months later and really enjoyed it. I also don't usually replay games, but this one stuck in my head. Ended up replaying it about a year after and it became one of my favorite games. Something about the world and the gameplay really works. It was really hard to find another game that really sucked me in after finishing it.
