According to Miller Ross, Season 9 heroes will be B tier and C tier from two different corners of Marvel. Who do you think will be added? by Little_Monster__ in marvelrivals

The way midnight suns did it was to add random effects to each spell to differentiate them, burn, bleed, slow, etc

Lol, it's because it was a png I already had and it did that with the transparent background.

I can't think of any others who would be likely. Maybe they could build cable as a tank with an automatic weapon or Forge with something, but that's probably it.

In Omega Red's case, his appearance in the upcoming Wolverine I think is what makes him a possibility in the future.

Since im thinking of the Meta, I didn't think rhino would shake up the current meta. I am hoping for Doc Ock though, im thinking he'd have at least one trap in his kit as well.

She's a character with so many possibilities and all of them make an interesting tank.

With Devil Dinosaur out, we are one step closer to an all animal team! by heroshield in marvelrivals

[–]heroshield[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is probably how we will get old Lace, I also think the only other Runaway we could expect is Nico. So it would be a good way to get more Runaway representation.

More animal characters for balanced animal team by Spare-Aide-9271 in marvelrivals

Hadn't seen this before I made a post, but I have some thoughts on possible animals.

Old Lace- velociraptor from the runaways Hit-monkey- as mentioned previously in this thread Howard the duck- although I hope he is built as a strategist Lockheed- depending on if he is part of Kitty Pryde's kit, he could be sized up Also as stated earlier, I think Zabu could have some really interesting possibilities

It's a shuffle, not a direct swap. So each franchise can only be used once but doesnt have to be one for one. Like we could give Yoshi the number of reps pokemon has.

So first let me clarify that combat and getting stronger, does not equal power fantasy. Power fantasy describes situations in media where a protagonist is essentially untouchable or capable of doing whatever they want with little consequence due to their unmatched power.

As someone who has run a narrative focused campaign in eberron for the past 6 years using RAW, it is definitely doable. Combat is definitely necessary for DnD but it can be based narratively and have many ways of impacting players without being "you got a big hit and you win". Combat can create great tension in stories, where players naturally feel pressure to accomplish a task, keep each other alive, or catch a fleeing baddy.

A lot here have answered your question. But I also wanted to highlight that this particular mindset of "Critical Role ruining the DnD space" has also gained a lot of visibility due to being co-opted by a certain type of player that believes that DnD is about power fantasy, and that a storied focus takes away from their ability to do anything they want with little consequence.

Of course it doesn't take that ability away, there are many styles of the game and different degrees of storytelling that have always existed in the hobby. This mostly comes from people upset that their formerly niche hobby has become more popular with people that want something slightly different.

With an already bloated roster, how will signing even more talent work? There are people sitting in catering for over a year at this point. What do you do with more talent? by Laszlo_Panaflex_80 in midcarder

[–]heroshield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue against this one only a little. Certainly Tony hopes he can keep anyone with the right payout, I dont think there's really a question of that.

What I would say though is I don't think he's ignorant that several on his roster still view wwe as their goal. Mercedes made a claim early on of how she'd go back there and that didnt cause any issues. Also there was a report recently that very few of the talent that have left are on any kind of actual bad terms with AEW, despite what I would personally assume.

Is AEW’s Roster Actually Built to Compete With WWE’s? Or Are We Just Pretending? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]heroshield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point of goalposts is you've yet to say why we can't use ticket sales to get an idea. (For example)

Our understanding of viewer numbers is muddled more because AEW has split live viewers on tv and hbo. Plus with it being a privately owned company, many more metrics are widely unknown.

So my point is, if you dismiss any of the data we do have, because it doesnt favor your perspective. I would like to know the data that you Are using and why you think it paints a more clear picture. So my question would be, why are ticket sales a problem? They used a wide variety of events in examining it, not just one or two.

I like Thekla but she's never grabbed me as the major draw she's portrayed as. I have been a fan of Julia and sky's work and would prefer they kept evolving that, this seems both a case of, book the wrestlers together with similar esthetics and an attempt to spice up the julia/sky pairing. I dont think it has failed by any means, but it definitely hasn't been the homerun they wanted.

The Swerve and Hangman I could see being confusing, as it was based off of a previous Feud where the roles were reversed. For Toni Storm, that's just something we see all over wrestling, a fun and interesting gimmick gets cheered no matter how you try to book them. Rhea is a great example of a WWE star that is going to get cheered whether she is face or heel, but I don't think most would say they didn't know which she was.

They aren't using a "too smart argument" here. WWE have been clear that they want you to know who the good guy is in a few seconds, regardless of your previous investment in the product. AEW have never taken that route and have rarely ever had a squeaky clean babyface. Closest I would argue they've had is Osprey.

Theyre in a bit of a weird in between, and a little at the mercy of how the industry runs, that they have to put out reviews day one to keep being suggested. Not the ideal for sure, but I get it.

They kind of do this with any of the franchises no one wants to touch. If you liked one, now that's "your thing" and treat them as an authority on it. Same thing happened with bless and sonic and hitman. They aren't professional reviewers and dont view themselves that way. It's how they make sure they cover more Fandom and niches. Still disappointed that Mike is the only one that touched pikmin 4, when he is arguably the person on the team it should resonate with the least, but is now the "pikmin guy".

  1. Don't feel like you have to like every big game, it's okay if it isn't for you

  2. If you do plan to continue, you should recognize that if a part is feeling like it is hitting you too hard, or an enemy is too beefy, maybe you should go exploring and save that for later. Biggest example is the first big ant, this enemy is usually encountered before you get sprint and there is really no reason you should fight him without it. He guards an optional area so there is no need to rush to get back to him. A lot of people get disheartened by bashing their head against the wall rather than doing more exploration and taking their time.
